You are correct. I checked a few sources; the most recent were last week. Trump wrote the request, and said a list of groups would follow Zucker's response to the letter. Nothing has happened so far.

Trump never did say he'd not attend if the money isn't donated. What I heard must have been speculation from a commentator.

As I tried to make clear in my post, I could well have missed something myself.

But I do admit I would be surprised if Trump painted himself in a corner by pledging to not attend if CNN didn’t make the donation.
