I know this post is about purchasing, but
An individual with a concealed carry permit has already spent a bunch of money, had a federal records colonoscopy, training and probably waited 90 days or more for the permit.
So that plan should include, show your permit pay the man and take your firearm home.
Or is the plan more than insuring a qualified buyer ? /rhetorical
Starting next month in Maine, we don’t need a permit to conceal carry on our person or in our vehicles.....Constitutional Carry.
We already have Open Carry.
The first time I got a license about 20 years ago in Cobb County Georgia, it took nearly a full day to wait in line, do the paperwork, police stuff, etc. and pay something under $50 cash. I had to wait over 90 days to get it in the mail.
When I moved up to my little tow in North Georgia and I went to renew it I went into the small courthouse Probate Judge's office and the clerk lady said "what do you need, honey?" I told her and she said "fill this out, honey, and take it on over to the police office and get your background thingy done and by the time you get back I'll have your permit ready." It was UNDER a half an hour to do all of this.
It took longer the next time to renew, I had to wait 10 days because they had to send off the ID information to a Florida company to print up the picture ID/hologram card. It came in about 7 days. Cost was still under $50 IIRC.
I WOULD like to say this. That card has saved me a whole bunch of $5/$10 NICS checks when purchasing the guns I've bought over the years. Fill out the Form 4473, show the card, pay and be on your way.
