How much longer can Germany keep its doors open to refugees?
The Manchester Guardian ^ | September 13, 2015 | Luke Harding

The country responded generously as Angela Merkel threw open the borders, but as 1,000 people a day arrive in the capital alone some doubts are being voiced.

The Rudolf Harbig hall in west Berlin is normally used for athletics. The complex has a track, an indoor sandpit for long jump and a gallery for spectators. Nearby is the monumental Olympic stadium, the scene of the 2006 World Cup final and other major sporting events.

On Friday, however, the hall was being transformed into emergency accommodation for refugees, now arriving in the German capital at the astonishing rate of 1,000 a day. Soldiers from the German army were unloading mattresses. New camp beds had arrived. Some 15 volunteers were busy stuffing colourful covers on duvets.

“We’re sacrificing our gold medal to help people in need,” said Thomas Glückselig, lugging a mound of bedding. “Great Britain will get the gold instead of us,” he joked. Glückselig, a 60-year-old Berlin pensioner, said Germany had no choice but to shelter all of those fleeing war. But could the country manage? “If we can save banks, we can save people. We want to do it and we can do it,” he replied. What about other EU countries, such as Britain and the east Europeans, whose leaders appeared less keen on refugees than Angela Merkel? “If England wants to be in Europe, you have to do more. You can’t shut your tunnel,” he said....

“Lithuania has that bit of Russia protecting it.”

If Europe keeps this crap up with mass importations, Lithuania, the first republic in the former Soviet Union to declare independence will likely wind up being the first republic in the former Soviet Union to demand return to life under Russia.

To be honest I’ve been thinking that, not just about Lithuania but about some of the others also.

“I’m not sure but I think the father also drowned. If he is still alive, his torment will be horrific for the rest of his life.”

Perhaps. But based on the degree of PRIDE that I used to see in the parents of kids that had suicide vests strapped to them, I would not immediately think that parents from that part of the world always respond as we Westerners would.

Maybe the Ruskies can hire the East Germans to build another wall for them.

I haven’t, until you tweaked me. But a Russian umbrella that isn’t based on Soviet oppression and Communism, but is instead a real military alliance could very easily appeal to these countries when the alternative is taking in MILLIONS of terrorists (or at least potential terrorists) at the command of Brussels.

Saudi Arabia won’t take in
the refugees. They barely lift
a finger to fight the murdering
scum causing the migration. They
sponsor terrorists. Now they want
to provide Islamic worship places
for Muslims escaping Muslim butchers
in a Christian country. That offends
me too.

Agreed, and as an English person I’ll apply to them for Asylum as a genuine refugee.

I’ve been to Vilnius and found the city very lovely, so Vilnius as the new home.

F*** Saudi Arabia. They are the center of Islamic Terrorism. Most of the 911 terrorists were from that god forsaken country...if one could call it that. Their rulers are some of the richest A$$hol#es on the planet. They should be taking in ALL the Islamic refugees but of course they won’t as they own more than half our politicians and evidently Germany’s too.

This might happen, I mean we’re in a beyond turbulent situation here, all sorts of things are going to happen, things that people never thought would happen again, like many nations and regions re-uniting.

Can’t say I blame you. I was reading your intro thread...scary stuff - it seems that as if Europeans believe that this who thing will somehow “blow over” and things will quickly return to normal. It has to be hell being there, saying what you’re saying, and no doubt being looked at as some kind of nutcase (at least by government).

I’ve been scared to death for Europe for the at least the past decade. You have 3 things going on at once - no more babies from native Europeans, lots of immigrants being imported, and immigrants having kids like mad. There’s only ONE WAY that all ends and I stated earlier today, Hitler will finally get to snicker in his grave, as soon he will be replaced as Europe’s bloodiest tyrant...once Europeans rise up and start doing the dirty work to take back their continent.

But I also remember reading something scary a few years ago. It said that Europe had disarmed so much, both at the military level and even at the police level, that it was questionable whether they will even be capable of fighting a well-armed insurgency. It was a careful analysis and it scared the crap out of me. It takes time to raise an army, so Europeans better get to work, and FAST.

Good luck there!

Good thinking. Poland and Lithuania have been so screwed over by the Nazis and Russians that they aren’t taking this lightly. They don’t want any more misery.

Well because of the EU, the UK has 15,000 less police that we had 5 years ago and 40,000 less in our armed forces.

Heck we only have 1 aircraft carrier, actually I can’t remember if we got rid of that even.

It seems that our friends in Russia are going to have to come to our rescue militarily.

I’m sure Putin is freaked at the influx of scum into our Continent and that’s why he’s suddenly gearing up to take on ISIS.

He’s already going to try and save us, he did once say that he’d protect Christianity.
