COBB, Calif. (KCRA) A fast-moving wildfire burning in Lake County exploded to 50,000 acres and has destroyed hundreds of homes, Cal Fire officials said.
Cal Fire spokesman Daniel Berlant said more than 100 homes were destroyed by a wildfire that exploded in size within hours. That number was updated into the hundreds Sunday afternoon.
Berlant said wind gusts that reached up to 30 mph sent embers raining down on homes.

Started with Adam and Eve, and with most it’s a permanent and, sadly, eternal condition.
Yes. All it took was questioning God’s motive and what He said, “Did God really say that?”
In Oregon any state or federal land that burns must stay that way. No harvesting of burned trees, no clean up of burned under brush and even after 10 years, no spraying for weeds suppression to give the little ones that finally emerge from a cone a chance. The management of our state and federal forest lands is causing these fires, no harvesting or replanting ever!!
And the whole point, as you’ve been repeating, is that He allows us to exercise our free will, for Him or against, under His full control—cf Romans 8:28.
Some just can’t grasp that or that it rains on the just and unjust. Guess they’re hard concepts.
“What do I think Sarah would do?”
My question was “what do you think Sarah would say?” Would she say that God had anything to do with this fire? I think not. It offends me greatly to see anyone conflate a natural disaster with “the will of God!” That’s just nuts in my opinion.
“Yes, some of the comments on this thread are very disgusting and IMO are quite disturbing a real insight into the minds of some (a few - thankfully) supposedly religious conservatives. It seems that as long as any type of natural disaster isnt happing to them or to their friends and loved ones, it is probably somehow deserved. Some, sadly to say even almost seem to relish in the misery of others.”
Yes, it leaves you wondering if some of the Westboro “Baptist” Church’ followers post on FR.
People here are judging the residents of this town which was just burned to the ground and I need to be careful?
You need Jesus.
What you need to do is cut the judgment schtick and stop impugning an entire population of people.
It's as clear as it possibly could be on this medium that she has a profound personal relationship with Jesus. You are completely out-of-line for suggesting otherwise.
Whats out of line is those people who are suggesting the people who have lost their home deserved it. That they are being punished by God.
THAT is out of line.
You know, we ALL deserve destruction personally. We avoid it to some extent thanks only to God's grace and the operation of the Holy Spirit in us and around us. Sometimes, for His own very good purposes, as she has pointed out repeatedly, He allows physical destruction to occur, and without feeling the need to explain Himself to us. Indeed, the Bible is chock full of examples of Him doing just exactly that, and Jesus Himself addressed this issue. Moreover, in that same Bible He has promised unprecedented destruction during the Great Tribulation.
“Not owning up, I see.”
Nothing to own up to. What was done here to the people personally effected by this fire is deplorable.
Jesus showed grace and love. Both of which were absent from numerous posters and apparently yourself.
All destruction is deplorable, and I am saddened by their loss, as I am by anyone’s, in the spirit of Hebrews 13:3. Moreover, I’ve not claimed, as some apparently have, that Californians deserve destruction—I am one. All I’ve claimed is that God permitted it, for His own good purposes; I’m on solid ground Biblically in doing so. Nor have I claimed that “you need Jesus,” as you did to her, when a fair reading of her posts clearly reveals she is full of Him.
“All Ive claimed is that God permitted it, for His own good purposes; Im on solid ground Biblically in doing so. “
To do so on this thread is heartless and completely lacking in grace.
People have lost their homes, their businesses, and their lives in a small number of cases.
If this is how you treat people in need then you do need Jesus.
So people who lost homes are on this thread? I admit I haven’t read every single post. Mind pointing them out so I may commiserate with them?

Job: 1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. 2 He had seven sons and three daughters, 3 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts. This was Jobs regular custom.
6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, Where have you come from?
Satan answered the Lord, From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.
9 Does Job fear God for nothing? Satan replied. 10 Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.
12 The Lord said to Satan, Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.
Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
13 One day when Jobs sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brothers house, 14 a messenger came to Job and said, The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 15 and the Sabeans attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!
16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, The fire of God fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!
17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!
18 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brothers house, 19 when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!
20 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:
Naked I came from my mothers womb,
and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.
22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
Yep. God does no wrongdoing—although we specialize in it.
Perhaps you should read.
Regardless if your first reaction a tragedy is what is was then we see yet another example of why Christianity is declining in america.
