Burning Man considers legal action against Quizno's

The toasted sandwich company published a parody video, “Out of the Maze and into the Playa,” on YouTube earlier this week, a day after the weeklong utopian arts celebration in Northern Nevada’s Black Rock Desert concluded on Monday. The plot sends the characters of the “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,” a not-so-well reviewed science fiction thriller to be released later this month, to Burning Man as a test of character.

“Welcome to Burning Man. The world outside is hanging on by a very thin, non-GMO, cruelty-free, organic hemp thread. Beyond this tent flap lies the beginning of your new lives as Burners,” a Burner says to the characters at the beginning of the video.

Burning Man takes issue with the clip and is considering legal action, not because of the mockery it makes of the more than 70,000-person annual event but because the video is theft of the event’s intellectual property, according to Burning Man spokesman Jim Graham.

Horse Breeding might be re-thought.

Actually that was mis-written it should have been

Breeding with a horse.

Quizno’s food is very tasty.

About the GMO issue, I don't see how heirloom plants or normal hybrids are a “pagan” thing—it's all Jesus ever ate. Are you anti-Jesus?

One new IDEA can make thousands of years of rote productivity obsolete.

Ideas come randomly out of nowhere. Usually when the mind is resting and/or experiencing something new. I designed a new type of sensor people now use all over the world. All because of how a wind chime reflected off a girl I was painting.

For me, that is the point of Burning Man. To see and experience things you NEVER otherwise would.

Most creative design firms now have field trips to BM for that reason.

No sir/ma'am. I love Jesus very, very much.

It is the cult of of biodyamics, organics, and other agrarian Gaia worship I object to.

I have known many who are enamored with how wonderful, natural, and pure their food consummation was, but it is the food and their classifications they worship, not the one who Created it. In short, it was just another way for them to worship themselves with false self-righteousness.

Christ parable of cleaning the outside of the cup, while the inside of the cup was filthy is applicable in that case.

Something about “Whole Foods” follows Pilot License.

Lol. I saw that.

I recall my pastor told me years ago of a rich man he knew who was obsessed with his "bucket list." He traveled to a remote region of the world to ride dirt bikes through the wild. He punctured his lung and broke many bones in an accident while doing so. This had been his 10th or 11th "adventure" that he just had to do. It took him over a month to get home, because he could not fly with a punctured lung. Even then, he spent months in painful recovery.

The pastor asked him if any of that really made his life more valuable to God. The rich man also had all the possessions of wealth: beachfront vacation homes, boats, aircraft, cars, property, cash, mansion, etc.

Reminded me of this:

The Parable of the Rich Fool

I meant that “GMO” is PC. Perhaps I was not clear in that. Sorry.

“And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?”

Most adventures don’t harm anyone, at least.

Some things are better left un-experienced. I've always figured life doesn't need to be a freak show to keep me entertained.

because the video is theft of the event’s intellectual property, according to Burning Man spokesman Jim Graham.

Well, according to the USPTO database, Burning Man is a registered trademark for

Goods and Services IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: ORGANIZING COMMUNITY FESTIVALS FEATURING A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES, NAMELY, LIVE MUSIC, ART DISPLAYS, AND PARTICIPATORY GAMES; CONDUCTING ENTERTAINMENT EXHIBITIONS IN THE NATURE OF ART FESTIVALS; AND ENTERTAINMENT IN THE NATURE OF ART FESTIVALS. FIRST USE: 19860601. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 19870601

I don't see anything about online videos or foodstuffs, so suck on that, Mr. spokesman.

What is politically correct can be assumed not to be factually correct—otherwise they wouldn’t have to modify the word “correct.” - Thomas Sowell

True - but they can't become an obsession (like anything else).

That is a very interesting parable that Jesus told. All wealth stored up comes to nothing if we are not also rich towards God.

I agree, it’s a great parable. Any day (or night) could be the time you hear “Your soul is required of you.”

An aphorism says, “You can only really keep what you give away.”
