When you say “lazy, stupid, insipid family”, just which family are you referring to? The Bush family entire, or Jeb Bush’s family?
You know, I wouldn’t vote for Jeb Bush; but I was really glad when 9/11 happened, that we had W in the Presidency (especially after the embarrassment that we’d been through for eight years prior).
Even though many of us disagreed with some of his decisions, I think George W. was a very good president for the times - and the problems - that he found himself dealing with. He came from a long line of very distinguished public servants, and had a strong sense of the values which that entailed.
Maybe some of us ‘armchair presidents’ should give up the grudges - and the energy wasted in grudge - and look to the future.
It’s not easy being POTUS; nobody is ever really prepared for it. But some try harder than others, and I think W. did a very good job. His wife was also an excellent First Lady.
(I realize that the position of ‘First Lady’ is not an elected position; but it has a lot of influence in the world when it comes to elevating our culture or debasing it. Again, see the last 6 or 7 years...)
I think we’re all agreed that our Nation doesn’t need another Bush, and certainly doesn’t need another Clinton. I’m merely suggesting that we ditch the insults, and decide WHO we’re going to vote for; and promote THAT person, instead of tearing down the others.
