"This is an unconstitutional agreement because it aids and abets our avowed enemy and, therefore, must be declared illegal and unenforceable."

Which begs the question: Constitutional by who's standards? Aids and abets by who's standards? Enemy by who's standards? Declared illegal by who? Realistically, the President is given authority to conduct foreign policy. The Senate to ratify treaties. Had Congress not acted, not voted it would just amount to a Presidential agreement -- which has been pretty well fleshed out in several Supreme Court decisions, but unless actually funded by Congress, money can't be spent. This whole 'inversion vote' ... the one we are either supposed to believe the GOPe was tricked into agreeing too, or that they actually thought it was a good idea in the name of fairness? Poppycock. It was mutually agreed upon by both elected party leaders to pass this. The GOPe couldn't appear to give in, yet wanted the agreement/treaty to pass. So don't blame Obama. He did his job (as crappy and incoherent to historical policy as it is) This is the fault of Congress.

You don't get it. Obama needs this agreement to be run thru Congress so he can get the Congressional imposed sanctions lifted. If he tries to do it himself, he is disobeying the law. Maybe the GOP controlled Congress will roll over and allow him to do it. Maybe not.

Congress should not take up the agreement until it sees the side agreements, which was part of what the Corker bill provides.

The GOP fooled no one including many of the Reps who said that the Corker arrangement turned the treaty process on its head. The outcome is no surprise. It was always going to be done on a party line vote and the agreement would go thru. The GOP leadership thinks it is a tactical victory because they get the Dems to own the agreement and what follows. Forget about the damage does to our security and that of Israel.

Are you joking? Obama negotiated the deal and all that is in it. Obama gets no pass because Congress didn't do its job. The Democrats, under the current rules, can stop even a vote being taken on the agreement.

The deal can be killed if the sanctions are not lifted.

Who do you think the Constitution is pointed at?

Answer: the feds

For whom do you think the Constitution is intended to benefit?

Answer: the American People

Who should stop the feds if they ignore the Constitution?

Your answer: the feds

My answer: the states and the people if the feds refuse to acknowledge the Constitution.

Even in common law, intended beneficiaries have the right and power to negate a principal’s unauthorized and unbeneficial acts.

This is pretty easy stuff my FRiend. The Constitution doesn’t belong to the feds, it belongs to US the American People. As the Ninth and Tenth Amendments confirm, the Constitution is an agreement by the states and the people to DELEGATE SOME of their powers to the feds as ENUMERATED by the Constitution. If the feds ignore the Constitution, which they do today, then the feds have no legitimate authority. Unconstitutional federal acts are by definition tyranny and must be resisted and rejected by the individual states.

Do you need a constitutional scholar to figure out that Hitler was America’s enemy? Do you need a constitutional scholar to figure out that Iran who has declared “death to America” and is the greatest supporter of terrorism in the world, is our enemy?

Time to get with the program.
