During Fox News live coverage of Kentucky clerk Kim Davis release from prison, anchor Shepard Smith suddenly spoke over the press conference to chastise Davis and those who supported her decision to refuse to issue gay marriage licenses.
They set this up as a religious play again, he said. This is the same crowd that says, We dont want Sharia law, dont let them tell us what to do, keep their religion out of our lives and out of our government. Well, here we go again.
When this started, this lawyer said he needed an accommodation for a woman who wanted one. She said she didnt want her name on a license for gay people, Smith said. Now theyve come up with one, theyve let her out of jail But its not what they want.
This is what they want, what youre hearing now and this what theyre going to get: stirred up argument and a couple of days in the news cycle, and theyre going to be able to make these claims.
Smith argued the Supreme Court had already ruled on the issue of gay marriage, and the issued was settled. This is not unprecedented. They did it when they said black and white people couldnt marry.
In the end, he concluded, Haters are going to hate. We thought what this woman wanted was an accommodation, which theyve granted her, something that worked for everybody. But its not what they want.
Watch, via Fox News:
To paraphrase Homer Simpson, Shep likes his fuh-laming.
And eyeliner.
Why does Fox allow a BIGOT to read the news?
Pagan or gay, which is he?
Marriage supporters, but hey, anything that is against the liberal agenda is hate. Can’t simply disagree, after all, SCOTUS has made it ‘the law of the land’ - curious statement for a body that writes no laws.
Yes. Here we go again. Christians must put aside their consciences to accommodate that which is against their faith. The situation that existed before required no one to do that to serve in public office. The laws were neutral. No one had to promote anything against their conscience. Now, Christians must violate their conscience in order to serve. That is a real problem and not imaginary.
He’s so emotional. Must be some female hormones in there somewhere. My wife loves to watch him though. She’s lucky I’m at work. I’d rather watch the Cooking channel.
Shep can't discern this as he's so packed with fudge that it's coming out his ears, his mouth...whatever.
What part of “be fruitful and multiply” involves homosexuality? God set things up for His purpose. Man went against His purpose. When you do that it is called “sin”. When an individual sins’ he has a mediator with the Father for the forgiveness of sin. When a Nation sins’, I don’t see the same testament. Recently we as a Nation still adhered to God’s definition of marriage, but we quickly surrendered to the courts and PC pressure. We as a Nation are doomed.
OK, I give up. Why did you post a picture of Curly when making a joke about Shemp?
I don't hate homosexuals, Shep, but I do hate liars.
Journalist or advocate. Pretty clear he, like most, are advocate.
Buh-by Shep.
I haven't watched Fox News for five years. I haven't watched the traditional broadcast network news since Election Day 2000. It took me a little longer to figure out that Fox News were just another of the same ilk.
Don't believe any of these people say. They lie.
Shep sucks.
Fox News is becoming PMSNBC.
Shep needs to look in a mirror.....and fix his mascara!!
Same here. I got hoarse from shouting at that brainless twerp. His performance today was insane. Almost like he was auditioning for Al Sharpton’s job over at MSNBC. It’s bad when a TV bobblehead takes the news personal. He sure is a God hater. He mocked anything and everything that was about religion.
Sheppie is the resident Fox Fag!
