Per another story, the license has been altered to say “Rowan County” rather than using Davis’s name. Don’t know if it’s technically legal, but that’s what they’re using as the work around.
And certain Supreme Court Justices impeached. They have no right to make law.
She has, so far, followed the “rules” for civil disobedience. “Letter from the Birmingham Jail” lays out the “up side” of civil disobedience.
Going to jail, rather than resigning, brought much more attention to the issue...and that’s why it was effective for MLK Jr. and will be effective in this situation, IMO
The clerk has to issue a statement authorizing the marriage, regardless of signature. See the post above yours - I was using the colloquial shorthand before, but I decided to cut & paste the actual law and RayCPA highlighted the statement in question.

She should walk in to her office and tell her employees all marriage licenses will be personally issued by her alone and then continue to deny.

And now with the Clerk back in the office, what? Does the order not to interfere mean that for the purposes of issuing licenses she’s technically ‘not present’?

He cannot be voted out of office. He is a US District Court Judge, appointed by the President/confirmed by the Senate, for a “term of good behavior” i.e.: LIFE. He can v\be impeached in the same manner as the President and Vice President, but this is MONUMENTALLY rare...
