ABOUT THOSE REFUGEES IN EUROPE
boblonsberry.com ^ | 09/08/15 | Bob Lonsberry

Posted on 09/08/2015 6:08:48 AM PDT by shortstop

This refugee thing doesn't make sense.

Hundreds of thousands of people, supposedly pushed out of Syria and Afghanistan by war, are swarming into Europe and demanding asylum.

We have seen riots, and a drowned little boy, and cheering crowds of welcome.

It is an interesting and historic spectacle, but I don't think we understand much about it. And I don't think we're asking enough questions, or grasping all of the consequences.

So let's talk about it.

First, if there is a true refugee problem, it's pretty likely the last six or seven years of American foreign policy are primarily to blame. It is American escalation that has destabilized Afghanistan and it was American indifference that melted down Syria. Whether we were drawing red lines in the sand, or moving troops in or out, what we failed to do was stabilize either Syria or Afghanistan.

And don't ask what our precipitous withdrawal from Iraq did.

If indeed these people are being pushed from Syria and Afghanistan because of the disruption of war, no nation had greater capacity to prevent that dislocation than the United States.

Translation: These are Obama's refugees.

Another unanswered question in all this is: Why now?

Both Syria and Afghanistan have been war wracked for some time. Both nations have faced their own respective heartache, with the devastation in Syria most comprehensible to westerners.

But why have these two oppressive nations now simultaneously and surprisingly decided to allow these refugees out? It seems clear the Muslim Middle East has opened its door and a flood of folks are pouring out.

It's only natural to wonder why.

And why now.

I also think it's fair to wonder if this mass of humanity is exclusively the sympathetic refugees shown on the evening news. Both Syria and Afghanistan have been home to dangerous, international jihad groups, and the possibility that the Islamic State and Taliban or Al Qaida vestiges have sent terrorists into Europe with the refugees seems pretty high.

The refugees also seem to have a high expectation of services and accommodations, almost an entitlement. Refugees have held protests and demonstrations in Greece, demanding a faster and more efficient registration system. It seems odd that folks who have shown up and thrown themselves on the taxpayers of Greece would be so critical of their hosts.

Further, it is clear that the motive for the influx is more than just safety and peace. Safety and peace can be found in any European country. The religious freedom of these people would be respected in any nation of Europe, and they would be protected like any other person. If refuge and escape were the motivation, any nation in Europe would do.

But not any nation in Europe will do, it seems.

Refugees all want to go to Germany.

Period.

Sad tales of people dying in trucks and by other means have all been people who had already found safety in Europe, but were looking for something different in Germany.

That something different might be money.

Germany is the richest nation in Europe and has the most generous welfare benefits.

And that's where the refugees want to go.

There is also the unspoken fact of Islamifacation. Europe isn't quite Europe anymore, and the percentage of non-assimilitated Muslims across the continent is soaring. In some nations, this has led to friction and opened the door to Muslim terrorism.

With these hundreds of thousands of new refugees, a broad, blanket immigration has been granted to people whose religion has been antagonistic to Europe's Christianity and western democracy. And while the Syrians have some foundation in modernity, the Afghans streaming in mostly have no taste or capacity for the lifestyle and values of the Judeo-Christian world.

It is fair to ask what this influx of young, vital Muslims does to a continent whose society and Christianity have grown moribund.

There is also cost. And though it will leap quickly into the billions, it may be the least of society's concerns. Most European nations seem intent on helping these people along their journey and in their ultimate new homes. Many regular European citizens have shown up with clothes and food, as well as welcoming and open hearts. It seems likely that if legitimate avenues of charity open up, Americans will join Europeans in their generosity to these displaced people.

The principle is horrifying.

Every parent watching on the news imagines what would happen if such disruption came to his or her home. The terror and dislocation of war are not lessened because they have not been lived. The world wants these people to be taken care of.

And they will be.

But there a lot of unanswered questions.

And it would be good to answer those questions before more time passes or more consequences unfurl.

Because, right now, a lot of this refugee thing doesn't make sense.

I remember it as the end of the Orson Welles narrated Nostrdamus movie that came out in 1980s. The Man Who Saw Tomorrow. I remember vividly that the movie predicted an attack on New York City by a middle eastern man with a blue turban. I can’t seem to find this movie now on Netflix.

I posted this, somewhat tongue in cheek, on another thread to indicate what 0 could use to redirect to ‘migrants’ here in our country.

0: “Valarie I am going to address United Nations and the country on this European migration and I’m going to need your help to convince this country to get on board for my plan”

VAL: “Of course Bammie you can count on me, what do you need, sweetie”?

0: “Well, right now, the only images I have to use are of one drowned kid and our people acting like the Ferguson activists and on top of that our people over there are refusing any help so need more tear jerking images”

VAL: “Ok sweet cheeks, I think I know what your aiming for, I’ll contact my Muslim friends over there and tell them we need to see some images of women and children bodies and more blood and gore, they’ll know what to do”

0: “That ought to do it, momma, just don’t indicate to them this idea came from me and as soon our media starts flooding the news with the images, I’ll go on television and address the world”

‘Trump had better hang the Europe’s refugee crisis around Obama, BIDEN and Hitlery, and vow that those thugs won’t be welcome under his watch. It’s a THREEFER.’

There, fixed it.

Curious? Where did All the Refugee’s flee to during the American Revolution or the Civil War? There had to be hundreds of thousands of Cowards fleeing right?

During the American revolution, those loyal to England fled to Canada, but they probably couldn't be labeled as cowards, just loyalists.

Something comparable in today's situation would be the Syrian Alawites fleeing to Iran and the Sunnis fleeing to Sunni nations. But we don't see that; they're fleeing to non-Muslim Europe (non-Muslim for now).

Europe will regret this for many years. I just know it in my bones. This is the model: Give us a way to assuage our guilt and we will cheerfully commit suicide at your feet.

I for one have been dramatically unimpressed by the lack of scrawniness of these refugees.

But I am a suspicious one.

Europe will regret this for the next 10 or 15 years. After that all the ‘regretters’ will be silenced upon pain of death. Sharia works that way.

I live in Germany, so I can address most of this.

First, for anyone to think that the Syrians only started arriving this summer....it’s absolutely wrong. When the ISIS guys took up arms and created the Syrian civil war....folks started leaving. So, even in the spring of 2014...they were starting to arrive in Germany and go through integration/visa process/language classes/etc.

Throughout most of 2014, there were always thousands making their way through....just not the numbers you see daily now.

Second, when they refer to refugees, asylum seekers and immigration seekers...it’s not all Syrian. A fair number are Iraqi, Pakistani, and from Afghanistan. Thousands are from central Africa and their application for status is more questionable....they have to show some type of threat. Then you have the crowd from Albania and a couple of southern European states....who are identified as economic refugees. This crowd....has a one-percent chance of being accepted...with the vast number being sent back but only after two or three months of evaluation.

Journalists, are doing a two-star job of reporting this and simply refuse to ask pointed questions. I think a ten-year old kid from Iowa could go over....ask the right questions, and do a better job reporting all of this.

I will say this...from the Syrians I’ve come in contact with in Germany...most are respectable people who had regular jobs and lives, and have a fair amount of education. I don’t know the ratio of Christian Syrians to Muslim Syrians...but I’ve yet to come across anyone who rubs me the wrong way.

Finally, I will say this. Germany has a serious population problem (spiraling numbers)....so they might see this as a plus-up in some odd way. A study from the spring (University research) said that in twenty-five years....Germany’s 80-million population will go to 65-million, unless something happens to change present circumstances.

Anyone have in insights?

It will all become clear starting September 25.

"If you didn’t like “Agenda 21″, then you really are not going to like “The 2030 Agenda”. Next month, the United Nations is going to launch “The 2030 Agenda” at a major conference that will be held from September 25th to September 27th in New York City. The Pope is actually traveling to New York to deliver an address which will kick off this conference. Unlike Agenda 21, which primarily focused on the environment, the 2030 Agenda is truly a template for governing the entire planet. In addition to addressing climate change, it also sets ambitious goals for areas such as economics, health, energy, education, agriculture, gender equality and a whole host of other issues. As you will see below, this global initiative is being billed as a “new universal Agenda” for humanity. If you are anything like me, alarm bells are going off in your head right about now."

A big so what about population decline. Automation will make up for that.

Europe’s population declined by 1/3 during the initial black plague epidemic. It was still Europe afterward.

And the fertility argument is a non starter. The fertility rate in Syria and Iraq is just barely over what would be the replacement rate in their countries.

This is about replacing the Germans with a population more accustomed to the political ideal of the elites.
Dictatorship.

And you haven’t seen anything like the police state it will take to ‘keep Germany safe’ after you discover you’ve imported thousands of ISIS adherents.

I think a lot of it was also driven by a desire to water down “The Master Race” in order to make sure another Hitler doesn’t rise again in Europe.

This “migrant” invasion of Europe sounds like what will happen prior to the third peril George Washington’s vision at Valley Forge foretold.

‘Son of the Republic, what you have seen is thus interpreted. THREE GREAT PERILS will come upon the Republic. THE MOST FEARFUL FOR HER IS THE THIRD. But the whole world united shall not prevail against her. Let every child of the Republic LEARN TO LIVE FOR HIS GOD, his land and Union.’ With these words the vision vanished, and I started from my seat and felt that I had seen a vision wherein had been shown me the birth, the progress, and the destiny of the United States.’

The third peril was predicted as follows:

Again I heard the mysterious voice saying, ‘Son of the Republic, look and learn.’ At this the dark, shadowy angel placed a TRUMPET to his mouth, and blew three distinct blasts; and taking water from the ocean, he sprinkled it upon Europe, Asia and Africa.

Then my eyes beheld a fearful scene. From each of these continents arose thick black clouds that were soon joined into one. And through this mass there gleamed a DARK RED LIGHT by which I saw HORDES OF ARMED MEN. These men, moving with the cloud, MARCHED BY LAND AND SAILED BY SEA TO AMERICA, which country was enveloped in the volume of the cloud. And I dimly saw these VAST ARMIES DEVASTATE THE WHOLE COUNTRY and burn the villages, towns and cities which I had seen springing up.

As my ears listened to the thundering of the cannon, clashing of sounds and the shouts and cries of MILLIONS in mortal combat, I again heard the mysterious voice saying, “Son of the Republic, look and learn.” When this voice had ceased, the dark shadowy angel placed his TRUMPET once more to his mouth, and blew a long and fearful blast.

Instantly a LIGHT AS OF A THOUSAND SUNS shone down from above me, and pierced and broke into fragments the dark cloud which enveloped America. At the same moment the angel [?] upon whose head still shone the word ‘Union,’ and who bore our national flag in one hand and a SWORD in the other, DESCENDED FROM THE HEAVENS ATTENDED BY LEGIONS OF WHITE SPIRITS. These immediately joined the inhabitants of America, who I perceived were WELL-NIGH OVERCOME, but who immediately taking courage again, closed up their broken ranks and renewed the battle.

Again, amid the fearful noise of the conflict I heard the mysterious voice saying, ‘Son of the Republic, look and learn.’ As the voice ceased, the shadowy angel for the last time dipped water from the ocean and sprinkled it upon America. Instantly the dark cloud rolled back, together with the armies it had brought, leaving the inhabitants of the land victorious.

Then once more, I beheld the villages, towns and cities SPRINGING UP where I had seen them before, while the BRIGHT ANGEL, planting the azure standard he had brought in the midst of them, cried with a loud voice: ‘While the stars remain, and the heavens send down dew upon the earth, SO LONG SHALL THE UNION LAST.’ And taking from his brow the CROWN on which blazoned the word ‘Union,’ he placed it upon the standard while the people KNEELING DOWN said, ‘Amen.’

Nah, I gotta disagree with that.

It’s to facilitate the dilution of European nationalism to facilitate an indestructible EU.

And the creation of the Ummah.

I wonder just how many Brussels bureaucrats themselves have already converted.

And certainly bringing in a bunch of "non white" foreigners made it much easier to facilitate.
