Yet he is getting the interest and support.
I see Trump paving the way for a center-right leader to come in. That is why it would not surprise me if it will end up being a Trump/Cruz ticket.
“How very GOPe of you.”
You are right, that is what they’re saying. But perhaps they’re right also, at least in this one area? In fact, I agree with GOPe here. If you run an Open Borders candidate that otherwise is Brim and Firestone on social issues, he will simply lose, because he will not be able to pull-in the millions of new voters needed. Huckabee comes to mind here. He’s certainly got the Brim and Firestone creds, but does anyone seriously think that he’ll pull-in millenials and even most other people that simply want to live out their lives without being preached to and yelled at because they are sinners? I don’t see that happening.
In the case of Cruz, he’s got some Brim and Firestone, so the best he could do is win in a tight election, with virtually no mandate and a Congress that will not fear standing up to him, at all (after all they hate him and they’ll keep hating him). They try that crap with Trump and they will wish they’d stuck with selling insurance.
I’ll take Trump with a mandate to seal the border and kick out the Illegals, and if that means fighting the social issues the next time around...well that’s the price we have to pay to get out of this nightmare.
If the Supreme Court invented some bogus right out of thin air that forced Muslims to choose between violating their faith and being fired/imprisoned, liberals would be the first ones to point out how many parts of the Constitution had been violated (although they would badly butcher the analysis) and to call for open civil disobedience.
Does this look like someone that is "down" with the homosexual agenda?
