Chicago has some of the toughest gun-control laws in the country. It also has a new record for shooting deaths in a single day.
The Windy City had nine shooting deaths on Wednesday its highest rate of single-day fatalities in over a decade. On July 5, 2003, there were 10 homicides in the city. The Chicago Tribune did an extensive analysis of its records before reporting Wednesdays grim milestone.

Que the fat Albert Nhen Nhen Nhen Nhen naa as he races down the hill towards the 101, with the new baby coach wheels.
It used to be Chicago was known as the murder capital of the United States. (And achieved that title in 2012 and 2013!)
It looks like we'll be getting that title back soon!
The primary concern of Raham Emanuel is revenue and only White people are left to pay the taxes.
Public hearings to be held Thursday night on Chicago red light cameras; no one told the public
CHICAGO - A public hearing about red light cameras will be held Thursday night at Chicago’s Gage Park - but there’s a problem: no one notified the public.
Citizens to Abolish Red Light Cameras are calling on the Chicago Department of Transportation to obey the Illinois Open Meetings Act and provide proper public notice of red light camera hearings going forward.
CDOT needs to let the public know when they are having red light camera hearings in the community and give people an idea of what the hearings are about, said Mark Wallace, Director of Citizens to Abolish Red Light Cameras. We heard about this weeks surprise hearing at Gage Park from Aldermen Toni Foulkes and we have no idea whether this is about putting up more cameras, taking cameras down, or the relocation of existing cameras, said Wallace.

Obviously the fault of law abiding gun owners. They need more restrictions. After all it’s possible that one or two of the killings in Chicago this year were actually legitimate self defense, and if it just saves one life ...< /sarcasm>

Is that with or without Planned Parenthoods’ totals?
This long weekend should be a doozy for shootings in Chicagoland. I don’t know what’s more ironic. That they have the toughest guns laws or that none of them would be going back to work on Tuesday anyway.
More gun control! More gun control! More gun control! More gun control! More gun control! More gun control!
That should solve this problem!
Don’t know about you but I’m droppin’ my nra, goa, jpfo memberships and joining YesMAM. (Moms against Machetes)
Earlier in the spring I emailed Mayor Rhambo and suggested he deputize the Million Moms for Gun Sense (conveniently located next door here in Indiana), team them with Baraq’s ATF agents, and send them into the Chicago ‘hood to clean up the illegal guns.
So far no response.
Chicago breaks single-day shooting death record
. . .
The Windy City had nine shooting deaths on Wednesday its highest rate of single-day fatalities in over a decade. On July 5, 2003, there were 10 homicides in the city.
The headline is wrong. It says it broke the record and then in the second paragraph notes that their own resench shows that there were 10 homicides on July 5, 2003. Unless the 2003 date includes non shooting deaths.
Well, by liblogic, if they say it’s broken, by golly, it’s broken. Even though it’s less than.
It’s a democrat run city... a hellhole in the process of becoming...
Thank God college football is back...I’ll catch up on the KIA and wounded in Chitown on Tuseday meself.
Even back in 1978 when I was a newspaperman with the now-gone Chicago Daily News, we called it Chicongo.
