Donald Trump: I Will Know The Difference Between Hamas And Hezbollah 'When It's Appropriate'
4 September Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump did not take kindly in a radio interview on Thursday to being asked to identify the affiliations of various militant leaders in the Middle East, saying the host was asking a gotcha question.
Discussing Islamist extremism, conservative talk-radio host Hugh Hewitt told Trump he was looking for the next president to identify the leaders of major militant groups, naming the heads of Islamic State, Hezbollah, al-Qaida and its Nusra Front wing in Syria.
Do you know the players without a scorecard yet, Donald Trump? asked Hewitt, who will co-moderate the next official Republican presidential debate on 16 September in California.
No, you know, Ill tell you honestly, I think by the time we get to office, theyll all be changed. Theyll be all gone, Trump replied.
The names you just mentioned, they probably wont even be there in six months or a year, he added.
Hassan Nasrallah has headed Hezbollah since 1992.
Hewitt pushed Trump on the question, asking him: So the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas does not matter to you yet, but it will?
Trump replied: It will when its appropriate. I will know more about it than you know, and believe me, it wont take me long.
The billionaire real estate mogul has risen to the top of the polls in a crowded Republican field more than a year before the November 2016 election.
When Hewitt said these were not meant as gotcha questions, Trump responded: Well, it sounded like gotcha. Youre asking me names that, I think its somewhat ridiculous, but thats OK. Go ahead, lets go.

How can Trump possibly win with this kind of idiocy?
Trumps plan to defeat ISIS:
They have great money because they have oil. Every place where they have oil I would knock the hell out of them. I would knock out the source of their wealth, the primary sources of their wealth, which is oil. And in order to do that, you would have to put boots on the ground. I would knock the hell out of them but Id put a ring around it and Id take the oil for our country.
I agree.
No, you wish your daddy left you a fortune. I’m sure you would have done better with it. Most people did.
Aw, c’mon Nick.
We all love Reagan here, but he is after all only human. For cryin’ out loud, he raised a son that is as weak as homobama.
Hewitt couldn't have answered all of his questions until he looked the answers up in preparation for his "gotcha" questions.
“It was an ABSURD gotcha question...”
I agree. And his answer was not only honest but quite good. The idea that the best president is one who knows who the prime minister of Uzbekistan is, is ridiculous.
The best president is the one that has the right values and has the ability to sell them to the people and the leadership skills to steer the country toward achieving them.
There are plenty of experts who can educate a president in the minutiae of a particular issue. Once he is briefed, given that he has the right values, he will make the right decision.
Actually, plenty of second generation kids go through their daddy’s money, not grow it to something way bigger.
Your dislike of him seems personal, not just intellectual.
But I don't agree we all love Reagan. I hear more Trump supporters either outright lie about him or make some kind of backhanded insult. WilliamIII claimed he was ignorant about the Middle East, which is the opposite of reality. Does he have a shred of proof? No. Doesn't sound like a Reagan fan to me.
Up your shaft, hoser.
Since none of them were on the scene yet in 1980, I would think not. But I would bet the house that Reagan could identify Arafat or Abu Nidal or even Ilich Ramirez Sanchez back then. Reagan was old school, not the new school ignoramuses we are stuck with these days.
Good for them, I guess. It's only my business if they lie about it, then use that lie to hurt mu country. Your dislike of him seems personal, not just intellectual.
I don't have respect for him, but my dislike for him is not personal. Once he goes back to wallowing in his reality tv gutter, I will forget about him. But as long as he is trying to hurt my country, I will call him out on every lie, and the facts about his past. That's only fair, right?
I wish I had been as terrible a business person as Trump.
BUZZ .. MUST be willing to loose all ideology first.. and be willing to CONNIVE with both sides no ALL SIDEs.... if greater than two..
Shit can all principles, jettison morals, honor and honesty..
THEN.. only then.. can you be as “good” a businessman as Donald Trump.. be a Judas.. Tricky Dickie.. Charlatan..
probably Worse if you’re still FAIR..
Yup...your choice.
Have a good night.
They have great money because they have oil. Every place where they have oil I would knock the hell out of them. I would knock out the source of their wealth, the primary sources of their wealth, which is oil. And in order to do that, you would have to put boots on the ground. The sad reality is Trump mania has degraded many fine conservatives to the point of knuckledraggers. They probably see this quote and go “hell yeah!” and Boom, he’s gone up another 5 points in the polls.
Why is that an absurd question? If Hillary or Biden gave the dame answer FR would be laughing and trashing them. For good reason. This is the kind of question that SHOULD be asked of our potential president. Not whether they wear boxers or briefs. We have dumbed down this role way too much. These people will not be ready for that 3:00 AM phone call. It’s pathetic.
I spent most of my life in my own business...the construction business.
Wishful thinking is one thing, reality is another.
Up your shaft, hoser.
I’m Armed.. would be a bad move..
suggest re-think.. Skippy..
