As the manhunt for three men suspected of killing Fox Lake police Lt Charles Joseph Gliniewicz moved into its third day, Lake County authorities announced Thursday that "significant" home security video has been turned over to the Department of Homeland Security.
George Filenko, commander of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force, said a resident provided police the raw video Wednesday night. Although local authorities have not been able to review the tape with the proper equipment, Filenko said the homeowner told investigators that three individuals matching police's limited description can be seen.

Lots of police work going into this. Hopefully others will.check their security cameras
Lots of police work going into this.
Certainly more that when a civilian is murdered.
That crazy wench owes me about 5 gallons of coffee money today.. I stayed up till 1:30 looking at local sat. pics of that area and listening to the broadcastify..
I was amazed at how much was being broadcast on the scanner...
Considering that our police are being targeted and they are the front line between us and chaos, they and we should do everything possible to catch the killers.
I PRAY there’s useful information on this security camera.
As it stands right now, I’m not certain the murderers were trapped inside the area they’re searching. No telling if the three had an automobile. I just know that reports say that the time between Lt. Gliniewicz call and the arrival of other cops was a lapse of 10 minutes.

I get your point, and have a limited amount of sympathy for it.
However, open season on cops will be followed by open season on civilians in fairly short order if not dealt with harshly, I should think.
The police have been going around to anyone who might have video. Heard this morning that a truck driver may have had a dash cam.
Thank you for posting. For the first time, I have some hope they might actually find these perps.
Yep. I was up pretty late too. I couldn’t get the scanner to work on the device I was using, so I followed other sources. I thought for sure I would wake up and hear of arrests.
Talking with friends we think the officer interrupted a drug deal. Transportation may have been available through a fourth person
Without cops, most of the females and this country will be raped.
And now days, so will most of the men.
That’s one good reason to put cops first.
Without cops the ‘civilians’ don’t stand a chance against criminal lowlifes. You’re comment was dreadful...
I am hopeful too, but I am also reminded of the guy who killed a number of women in a Lane Bryant store some years back. An absolute cold case. He probably got on the interstate and was gone.
Me too.
they are the front line between us and chaos
Keep believing that. It might be true, if you keep their unions happy
In general, cops will take action if:
1. The victim is a cop or family member.
2. There is a chance of a hefty fine or seizure.
3. There is an opportunity to kick some ass. Especially in revenge.
4. There is some publicity to be had.
Oh...and I hope they catch these guys.
Actually, police come around after the violence generally and investigate crimes and arrest people. WE ARE the front lines between order and chaos, and should not try to shift it on police, who the supreme court has found have NO DUTY TO PROTECT US. Our lives are just as important, and spending hundreds of millions of dollars (like the case in PA) on an investigation for one dead cop, who looks to have been having an affair with the sister of the killer, while when regular folks are killed in cold blood they get one detective on the case part time, that drifts for years and often becomes a "cold case". I guess you believe some animals are more equal than others, but I do not. Our brave soldiers and marines truly risk their lives every day for peanuts against real threats with crew served weapons, armor, and artillery. More soldiers die per year in peacetime (~1500 non-combat deaths per year is typical, couldn't find for 2014 specifically) than cops die in the line of duty (~125 for 2014); in 2014, for the first time in the US the number of law enforcement officers and active duty soldiers are about the same ~1.2 million, so this is an apples to apples comparison and shows EVEN IN PEACETIME that being a soldier is ten times as dangerous as being a cop. In wartime it's more like twenty to thirty times more dangerous. But cops are more special than us grunts, right?
supreme court has found have NO DUTY TO PROTECT US
How can that be? I have it on good authority that, were it not for cops, most of the females and this country will be raped.
