I certainly don’t want the TSA personnel to do anything inappropriate, but I DO want them to do their job thoroughly. The alternative is to get blown out of the sky.

We weren't getting "blown out of the sky" before they came along. TSA has caught approximately zero terrorists.
Baggage screening worked better when done by the Airlines, who had a financial interest in keeping their planes from being "blown out of the sky," to the point where the terrorists has to resort to box cutters. The airlines also had an interest in not molesting their customers or disgracing them by forcing them to take their clothes off in public.
Profiling would work well also, but we're too PC and too infested with Islamic scum to do what's necessary.
Never felt safer.
I will keep that in mind next time I fly First Class and they issue me a steel knife and steel fork with my dinner. . .and the fact that my hand sanitizer (clear fluid) can't be seen on the scanners so I never take it out of my pocket (could be part of an explosive compound), and all those 3 oz containers in the quart size baggies that can be combined on the jet, or maybe some terrorist dusts his feet with tons of anthrax powder and walks shoeless through the scanner and leaves anthrax spores for everyone that follows (they never clean the portals), and the illegal aliens that are working on the flight-line servicing aircraft, or not requiring muslimes to remove their face covering so they can match a photo ID, and the naked scanners not saving pictures even though a picture that proves the guy was strapped with bombs will be evidence and also is used for training purpose, remember the 40,000-plus naked scanner pictures that were found “saved” for training purposes. . .40,000(?). . .but hey, I trust some 7-11 reject that is immature and throws his weight around (even though TSA are NOT officers and they can't make you do anything. . the police can, not TSA), they are simply employees (the metal badge they wear is for psychological reasons, i.e., to intimidate travelers). . .TSA always gives me a warm fuzzy when I am at the airport and see 80-yr old white women in wheelchairs being downright stripped-searched by some muslime.
Like I said, not a rant at you but at the insanity, the incompetence, power-hungry, authority abusing, mouth-breathing, bed-wetting, stupid, otherwise-unemployable TSA bullies that have not caught ONE terrorist. Not one. But at least those that fly once a year to visit grandma can see the kabuki dance at the airport and "feel" better. . . it's all about feelings if you are a demoncRAT.
