In any case, this lady could not issue marriage licenses. The KY law on this has yet to be written.
That’s what I was wondering.
Is this Kentucky law?
Is it a “law” passed by Congress?
The answer is it’s neither.. it’s just a courts “opinion”.
Until it is “law”... she should not be jailed!
Since there’s no Kentucky or county law on this, exactly what federal service did she refuse to preform? I’d to know.
“In any case, this lady could not issue marriage licenses. The KY law on this has yet to be written.”
It seems to me that is correct... If the law authorizing her to issue marriage licenses was deemed unconstitutional, then she has no authority to issue them until a new law is written. The old law essentially no longer exists.
The USSC didn’t change the old law, they just declared it not constitutional.
