I hope you are wrong, but fear you are right. This may be a fatal error by Trump and he will now be subject to GOPe dirty tricks since he has pledged not to go third party. He will also lose some of his support from people who want the GOPe destroyed as a corrupt institution that cannot be reformed.

If they do a hatchet job I think Trump would be the first to fire back and would probably go higher in the polls for that.

From watching Trump from the beginning of this issue, I would think he has an ace up his sleeve.

My theory is that when he realizes he has been backstabbed and marginalized by the eGOP far too much he will hold a press conference and prove they have been doing that and then tear up his pledge because the eGOP didn't treat it with good faith.
