It is my great honor to pledge my total support and loyalty to the Republican Party and the conservative principles for which it stands. This is far and away the best way to secure victory against the Democrats in November 2016. You know you Trump uses words as symbols. What he is doing is very important in sales and persuasion. Keep it simple and easy to remember.

He introduced 2 new symbols today.

First, he emphasized that he is "honored." That introduces humility into the equation.

Second, Trump said several times that certain things were not appropriate (like Priebus staying for the presser...giving the impression of an endorsement). By this word he is raising the banner of proper behaviour.

Both of these newly introduced elements are evidence of his becoming more presidential.

Trump does everything according to strategy.

This is a major shift IMHO.
