He introduced 2 new symbols today.
First, he emphasized that he is "honored." That introduces humility into the equation.
Second, Trump said several times that certain things were not appropriate (like Priebus staying for the presser...giving the impression of an endorsement). By this word he is raising the banner of proper behaviour.
Both of these newly introduced elements are evidence of his becoming more presidential.
Trump does everything according to strategy.
This is a major shift IMHO.

I don’t for a second believe Trump hasn’t played this *pledge* thing sharp as a razor.

Listened to this press conference while traveling today. My husband and I both remarked on how much better Trump was now at speaking and that he really sounds Presidential.
He has the smarts to be a winner in this negotiation. That the other candidates also received the same pledge to sign is also significant IMHO. Of course none of this is legally binding; no more so than the RNC taking a pledge to stand with WTP. What was the issue with the incorrect date? Was that RP or was that The Donald’s doing? Pray he will keep the support of left leaners even though he is running as an R. And they’re off (sound of the gun)
