From Mike Allen writing at Politico:
A close associate tells POLITICO that Donald Trump plans to sign a loyalty pledge Thursday that would bind him to endorse the Republican nominee, and would preclude a third-party run. Trump made the stunning decision, which he has long resisted, to avoid complications in getting listed on primary ballots, and to take away an attack line in the next debate, the associate said.

In GOPe’s mind that is.
Howdy Biggirl,
You’ve read stories that the GOP big whigs are going after Trump after the holiday. If so, why the heck should he honor any crap they forced on him?
They will try to go after him, but the more they go after him (Trump),folks are going to look at the GOP with so much disdain.
Well if this is true, he just signed his death warrant as it pertains to the Repub party, he all but guaranteed he will NOT be their nominee now no matter how popular he is. By having that independent card he was a major threat to the GOP-E, now they are going to work full time to bring him down and install their puppet Jeb. He has to know this though, he’s a brilliant guy, so I am assuming he will run as an independent ANYWAY when they F him over.
GOP probably cant find copies of the protect and defend the Constitution pledge.
He has no intention of running anyway. Call hid bluff. Catering to a liberal gets you nowhere. Whatever Trump does is not going to have an impact on Hillary winning.
Yeah, Trump will support amnesty...what color is the sky on your planet?
OK, maybe that was a bit strong. In all seriousness, and in the spirit of not being a wise-ass, I ask you to consider how important ANY OTHER ISSUE (be it guns, marriage, abortion, freedom of religion, taxes, the budget, regulations, foreign policy, national defense, ANY ISSUE AT ALL THAT YOU CARE ABOUT) will be if the Dems or the wrong Republican get elected, and we wind up with amnesty?
IMHO, if we lose on amnesty, the Dems and their uber-leftist policies will have won, PERMANENTLY. The Kennedys (Bobby and The Swimmer) tried to rig future elections by passing the Immigration Act in 1965 - and the Dems, after 50 years of massive immigration, are on the verge of making that a reality. Lose on immigration this year, and no other issue matters, EVER, because we will lose every time. Every state, and thus the nation as a whole, will end up like California is now.
I am for Trump now (I wasn't before, I liked - and still do - Ted Cruz) because after reading Ann Coulter's "Adios America" I finally understand the stakes in this election. I believe that Trump, as the ONLY candidate who has pledged to build a wall, eject illegals and end birthright citizenship, is the only candidate suited to literally saving this nation.
The best part, for you (and me, and all real conservatives, is that if Trump succeeds then the overall electorate will be far more conservative than now, allowing us conservatives to run the tables on various social and foreign policy issues.
Think about it, please. This election is just as important as the one in 1860, and for the same reason - it will determine whether we will have a nation that we recognize in the future, or whether it is replaced with some other foreign-idea-ruled entity that mere occupies the same geographic space.
Donald is not my top choice, but he deserves to be treated fairly.
A religious litmus test? Riiiight...
Even during this campaign Trump has repeatedly said he would let them stay. Even if he isn’t saying that right now, the fact is you have enough information to know what’s going on. He also hired one of the biggest amnesty activists in GOP circles to be his campaign manager. You can be smarter than this.
And Bush going all-out for the Hispanic vote will? Come on, be realistic. Most of that vote is concentrated in states that are not up for grabs, either way - California, Texas, New York, NJ. Hispanics are a minor portion of the rest of the electorate. He - and the rest of the Republicans - would be far better off going after the votes of those who are culturally (NOT ethnically) more similar to the Founders than to Fidel Castro.
None of the rest, save Trump, Cruz and Walker, have both the guts to fight Hillary or any other Dem - they are a bunch of milquetoasts...and I don't think that either Cruz or Walker can win the nomination. Also, Trump appeals to those outside the party - mostly those who stay home because they realize the farce of choosing between traitorous Dems and compliant, ball-less Republicans. Trump can win, I don't believe that the others can.
The best ticket would be either Trump/Cruz or Trump/Walker, with Cruz being the Attorney General in the latter case (and I'm not really that keen on Walker because he's fairly soft on immigration).
So much for his superior negotiation skills?
The author of the art of the deal - backs down
The idiots in the GOPe were sending mixed messages. Trump took the high road and did what he had signaled he was going to do for about two weeks and signed the pledge to get this out of the way.
The Dumb GOPe had been trying to kick him out then acting all upset he didn’t make a pledge. So you knew this was coming when they were trying to kick him off the ballots if he didn’t sign a pledge. That was when he signaled he would do it over a week ago.
It did get confusing because some wanted him out of the primary and others wanted him to not run third party, which would have happened if they kicked him out. But then it was he wouldn’t make ballots if he didn’t sign the pledge.
So now what? He wins the primary and? Will they support him?
Yep, I’ve been around enough to see 3 of my former neighborhoods be taken over by third world nations. I say NATIONS because this is not assimilation but domination. Entire neighborhoods now an offshoot of foreign countries, English nowhere to be found and as we’ve seen in Europe a new law system introduced. 85 Sharia courts in England 6 years ago!
he was boxed in—but he knows contracts and he may have a loophole in this deal. Now they will target him full force. Waiting for the big march in Washington DC on the 9th. Lets hear what he says then with Ted Cruz and others. If enough people come—if they show their anger—it just might change things! Trump better be wearing his Kavlar Vest! He will face the slings and arrows of the Leftist powers that be.
I never said anything Bush does will have an impact. I don’t even want any type of Bish/ Trump president, anyway.
I think you underestimate the number of illegals. It’s up to 60 million. That’s a lot of illegals Trump and Bush want to keep here.
3rd party run was the only stick Trump had over the Rinos. JEB will be the nominee, and most likely next president. This has been written in stone since Old Man Bush lost to Clinton in ‘92.
It’s over. For shame.
“Its over. RNC is dirty. They will not let Donald win. Barring a miracle, its over.”
I hope he is just playing their game.
Exactly what can they do to him if he violates this illegal oath anyway? I’m sure he could find a loophole.
