On Wednesday, Dr. Ben Carson said America’s borders must be sealed to protect against terrorism and told a prominent group of Latino elected officials that he also supports giving illegal immigrants a path to legalization and eventual citizenship.
Addressing the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) in Nevada, Carson said that “the reason that I think we need to seal our borders completely… all of our borders–north, south, east, and west–is not so much because I’m afraid of somebody from Honduras.”
“I’m afraid of someone from Syria who wants to bomb us, who wants to do bad things,” he said. “So that’s the main reason that we need to seal all of our borders.”
Carson said that “we do have an illegal immigration problem that would be solved if we sealed the borders and cease the benefits” so that “people wouldn’t see a reason to come here.”

I’m a doctor. There are many many fine doctors in this country, fewer yet like Ben Carson, but excuse me, why does a stent as a neurosurgeon propel you to lead this nation, and going in a day one with a long learning curve waiting.
That’s what we’ve had the last 7 years here.
The other candidates are great managers and proven.
Walker, Bush....Perry..Christie. good men with fine records.. but president?

Yes, that; he IS accomplished (unlike Zero), and he is not a pol. But you can see why suddenly the GOPe saw him as a “Trump derailed” until they could light Yeb or Walker’s fire.

I understand his religious beliefs, he and I share the same denomination. But I disagree with him on this so very much! They have never known any other land? Well, did they know, or did their parents know, any other land when they criminally invaded our country? I’m sorry for them, but they can’t steal what is ours and just take it and ruin it.
I feel he’s growing, but he was too recently a Democrat and still hasn’t progressed away from that enough.

I don’t believe it’s ego. There are MANY Christians who just don’t believe in ever doing anything where someone might get hurt. Jesus told inviduals to turn the other cheek, if someone takes something of yours, give them more, so they think that governments should do this as well. If someone walks on you, lay down and let them walk on you more.
I get in trouble in church (sideways and disapproving looks) for not being PC. The other week I spoke up in SS for America. It was ok when some guy started putting down America, but when I spoke up in support of America, I was starting trouble. WHATEVER!
I never understood the enthrallment folks have with Carson.
IMO he’s a moderate at best.

When an individual turns the other cheek he is taking power back from the one attacking him. When you turn the other cheek you are making a decision to do that instead of automatically striking back which puts you in control of your situation.
It doesn't work that way for the government though.
