Planned Parenthood chapters in Iowa, Missouri and Montana received just over $1 million in federal grant funding Wednesday to help Obamacare customers sign up for coverage, even as Republicans in Congress battle to strip the womens health provider of any federal funding at all amid raging controversy over its abortion practice.
The chapters were among 100 recipients of $67 million in so-called navigator grants doled out by the Obama administration Wednesday to nonprofits in 34 states that help people get covered under the Affordable Care Act.
Two thirds of the recipients had received grants in previous years, and a pair of the Planned Parenthood chapters Planned Parenthood of the Heartland in Iowa and Intermountain Planned Parenthood in Montana also received funding in 2013 and 2014. Congressional Republicans were outraged by the grants in previous years, but the fight has taken on new meaning in the wake of videos released by the Center for Medical Progress that appear to show Planned Parenthood officials negotiating sales of fetal organs for research. Planned Parenthood has said the videos are misleading, and deny illegal behavior.

It is simply not the right time to deal with it.
Boehner and McConnel can burn in *ell.
Note that Obama is probably going to veto any bill that dares to repeal unconstitutional Obamacare and likewise unconstitutional Planned Parenthood funding. And Obamas veto is a problem.
More specifically, Congress has the constitutional authority to override presidential vetoes (1.7.2), but only if an override has 2/3 majority vote support of each House of Congress. But thanks in part to the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, even after three elections cycles, enough cycles to have replaced every member of the Senate by now, low information patriots have failed to elect a 2/3 Senate majority that would be willing to override an Obama veto.
The House basically has the same problem.
I keep thinking that if the 17th Amendment had never been ratified then not only would Obama have been removed from office long ago, but wed have more 10th Amendment-respecting justices too.
The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, along with corrupt senators, 10th Amendment-ignoring activist justices and Constitution-ignoring Planned Parent administrators.
The other side wins every time.
The elites have made common cause to take our nation down.
The train seems to have no brakes, and be heading downhill into the abyss.
Same place they've been since Obama was elected...kissing up his ass.
Well stated.
That said, the repubs should still be fighting the issue tooth and nail.
But they don’t fight anything. The line up each morning to lick leftist behind. That is about all most of them do.
If GOP leadership had any leaders, it would make the case and convince a smidgen of Dems and overide.
That’s what used to happen
