Baier even had a "nuclear option" at the ready for Trump...[The script] took a page from Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" TV show. It went like this: "Mr. Trump, in your business you have rules. You follow rules. We have rules on this stage. We don't want to have to escort you to the elevator outside this boardroom."
"We're hoping we don't have to use it," Baier said later. "[But] we're locked and loaded."

That could’ve been ten points in the polls for Trump.
Baier's questions were the least inflammatory.
He did ask the hand-raising question, but that could have been assigned to him given its nature.
He asked the Bush dynasty question to Bush.
He asked Christie about his financial management of New Jersey.
He asked Paul about blaming Republicans for ISIS.
He asked Trump about his past support for Obamacare.
He asked Huckabee, Carson, and Bush if goverment was too big to shrink.
He asked Bush about his support for Common Core, and then asked Rubio to respond.
Then he asked Waker, Paul, and Huckabee to comment on the Iran deal.
Then he asked Trumped about an Iranian General violating a travel ban by going to Russia.
He asked Cruz about Russian cyber-attacks on the Pentagon.
He asked Carson about chemical weapons in Syria and would he would use troops to respond.
He asked Walker if he would defend an attack on NATO.
He asked Huckabee about gays in the military.
He asked Paul about financial aid to Israel, and then asked Christie to follow up.
He did cut off Cruz from answering as they hit a commercial break.
By contrast...

Mess with the bull, you get the horns.
Oh, nice ratings for the debate, Roger...
5.56mm
I have been wondering, and I haven’t seen drudge post them in a long while.
Do you have a source?
Trump should simply walk up and spit in Bret’s face next time. He would get even better poll numbers.
Does Baier wear a hairpiece?
Well, now that Christie has announced his plans to go nuclear, I wonder if CNN has plans for that?
Brett Baier got sucked into the Megyn Crowley Chris weasel Wallace vortex and now he is reaping the blowback.
The Tea Party was infiltrated by the GOPe, after Palin’s Tea Party victories in 2010 astounded and frightened the Establishment Elites.
I appreciate Fox news for what it is but also for what it is not.
Damaging Trump is their goal, by whatever means. Read this: http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2015/08/09/gope-2016-road-map-to-victory-tree-house-challenge/
It hasn’t hurt FOX’s ratings in the least! New data released for August had FOX and Megyn Kelly way UP. For all the people screaming about FOX and claiming to not watch anymore...I must be the only real person who actually stopped watching FOX.
So, if anyone thinks that FOX is in trouble with viewers the numbers are saying that. Now, FOX will double down and be just as bad or worse since they seem to be getting positive reinforcement for their negative bias reporting

Yes...LOL.
Those three Fox dipsh*ts can kiss off. This long-time Fox News viewer had been getting rather tired of the Fox reporting of late. After that debate, I have given up on watching Fox News with the occasional exception of Sean Hannity. Of course Fox stuck it to Sean a while back when they changed his broadcast time.
But, I really think that Megan Kelly is bright enough to have known how obvious it would look to viewers.

She is very bright, and she probably knew, but she just does not care what we “crazies” think.
w/e, Karl.
Thanks for posting. I haven’t watched FOX in 3-4 years and all of the rest in 7-8 years. No regrets. I’ll never watch television “programming” again. We decide what to report so that you can waste your time of life mulling over the insignificant stuff we are repeating, amplifying and pounding into your brain.
(I haven’t watched a lot of television my entire life.)
I never could figure what the big deal was/is about that little jug head...Or Faux for that matter.
Welcome to FreeRepublic Vic.
I didn’t post this to join the “anti Fox” brigade. I posted it so people could see how the debates were prepped, and to what length Bret Baier was prepared to go to try to get Trump off the stage.
CNN will be doing the same.
As to tv ratings, I think there is a new question that needs to be asked: how are ratings tied to revenue in the 21st century?
It’s a different ballgame than when we had only broadcast TV news and I don’t think people are asking the right questions about how Fox, MSLSD and the other cable outlets actually make money.
