Officer dies, manhunt for armed suspects in Fox Lake (Illinois)

FOX LAKE, Ill. -- Sources tell WGN that a Fox Lake police officer has died after being shot Tuesday morning.

Sources tell WGN that the officer's gun and pepper spray was taken.

Meanwhile, police are searching for two suspects: one white male and one black male. There is also possibly a third suspect. Multiple helicopters and K9s are searching the area.

Just heard on WIND that suspects were two white males, one black male. There are lots of ways for them to try to get away up there. There are a number of lakes up there, so they are searching marinas. Commuter rail service has been shut down. WIND says the officer’s condition is unconfirmed.
