A large part of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trumps stance on immigration involves building a wall along the southern U.S. border a wall the real estate tycoon insists will be paid for by Mexico.
But not so fast says GOP rival Jeb Bush.
The former governor of Florida said over the weekend Trump is promising to build a wall that cant be built, the Washington Examiner reported.
Its a determination Bush said he made after talking to mayors and law enforcement on the Texas-Mexico border, who he said told him a wall cant be built because of the rugged terrain.

Physical barriers are just force multipliers. Agree, it is not necessary to have fences across the entire border. You put up double fencing where it makes sense.
It's just too hard and impossible says Boosh.
What a hoot.
I copied and pasted your words.
It was your out-of-control fingers that mis-typed your thoughts?
Both nations have also deported illegals recently. SA even had the nerve to make other countries pay air fare for visa overstayers who couldn’t afford to pay themselves.
HUNDREDS of billions of dollars. It was tens of billions of dollars when Trump started out. It was just billions of dollars when we said we would build it almost a decade ago.
Does it become TRILLIONS of dollars as the primaries near?
As I’ve noted before, Bush is SLEEPWALKING at this point. Trump simply will not let him win. Either he’s defeated in the Primary, or he will be defeated in a 3-way race.
Either way, that would be JUST FINE with me.
No, I’m pretty sure it was your fevered mind searching for traitors around every corner that started this, dude.
Might want to go look in the bread box, btw. Might be some Code Pink folks hiding in there and plotting against you.
Excellent.
And you know that because you’re a member of the National Fence Builders Association?
Yeb: “It can’t be done.”
Factoid: Ike began his ‘Operation Wetback’ in mid-July and wrapped things up by the middle of fall, the same year.
So what couldn’t be done then was actually done in about three months.
When the chattering class pretends horror or amusement at the impracticality of deporting our uninvited guests, actually they know how easy it would be.
And if we had the will to actually police the border, we wouldn’t need a wall or even a single-strand wire fence.
But they don’t want it done while we do. Let’s do it.
“Might want to go look in the bread box, btw. Might be some Code Pink folks hiding in there and plotting against you.”
Pal, I don’t think you’re going to make any friends here. Being a RAT and being for ¿YEB? gets you two strikes with just about everyone here. You might want to go over to the DU and see if you can “convert” some of them to ¿YEB? supporters.
2. It will END the WAR ON DRUGS!That is a brilliant point. It will NEVER BE BUILT,
Seriously, have you guys been huffing paint thinner or something tonight?
Did you even read my initial post? Or my tagline? Or any of the dozens of posts I’ve made over the past couple years about Jeb Bush?
I couldn’t get bald eagle to stop frothing long enough to explain this inexplicable line of attack., so I’ll try my luck with you. (Don’t worry, I’ll use small words.)
-I said Jeb was COMPLETELY WRONG in his claim that we could not build a wall on the border.
-I further said it would not cost anything like Jeb was saying.
-I then pointed out that several conservative writers have studied the issue, and one of them has argued that the Jeb claim (FROM THE *ARTICLE*) about not being able to build fences or walls in rough terrain is a deflection, as we could probably build about 700 miles of double layer fencing and effectively choke off all the easy access routes and bring illegal trafficking to a halt.
-Baldy, in his infinite wisdom, came unglued on me, cursed me, proceeded to drop several F-bombs (that’s why his original post was deleted, btw), and claimed - much like *you* - that I’m somehow a Jeb Bush supporter, and a open borders advocate. Not sure how he arrived at that, given that I stated - several times - that Jeb was completely wrong and that we could indeed secure the border with fencing or a wall.
-I finally realized the guy’s got a screw loose and can’t be reasoned with. I can deal with that, but what is *your* excuse, dude? Are you a nut as a well? Or are you just too lazy to read a thread and have at least some idea of what is going on before you insert foot into mouth?
I would say that outer space is pretty rough terrain to; you know that whole lack of air thing, and you can’t tell up from down.
Still we did manage to put people on the moon; and bring them back home all safe and snuggly.
Oh, and respectfully? People who make baseless accusations and curse at people for no good reason aren’t friends I’d want to have in the first place. I’ve met plenty of good folk here at FR the many years I’ve been here. And I’ve met at least one tonight who isn’t.
I would be willing to bet it is well over the 100,000 mile number.
And landmines; lots, and lots, of landmines.
Where the wall is, and especially where you don’t want to build it.
And sharks with fricking laser beams attached to their heads.
Not so great moments in history: During WWII, President Jeb Bush announced that we cannot rescue Europe from the Nazis because of rugged terrain.
Bush’s campaign motto should be “It’ll never work!”.
The really annoying thing, American defense contractors like Raython helped BUILD hundreds of miles of multi-layer virtually impenetrable fencing along Yemen-Saudi Arabia’s border. Ditches, fences, sensors, so someone couldn’t crash a car through or climb over.
What did they build in the US? A row of sensors that kind of sort of sensed people and triggered when animals went through, and it meant nothing anyway because there weren’t enough border patrol agents to act when someone was identified coming through. That was the virtual fence, and even that was shut down.
Jeb Bush = AmeriCAN'T
