A large part of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s stance on immigration involves building a wall along the southern U.S. border — a wall the real estate tycoon insists will be paid for by Mexico.
But not so fast says GOP rival Jeb Bush.
The former governor of Florida said over the weekend Trump is promising to build “a wall that can’t be built,” the Washington Examiner reported.
It’s a determination Bush said he made after talking to mayors and law enforcement on the Texas-Mexico border, who he said told him a wall can’t be built because of the rugged terrain.

Heh, that picture brings back memories - especially the section near the back. I had a chance to walk along the Great Wall back in the 90s. It takes some doing to get up those steeper slopes (especially with vendors trying to hawk postcards and other trinkets every 10 yards). It’s a good reminder, though, of what can be done with determination and effort (the Great Wall, not my walking on it!)

Mr. engineer's real problem with the wall is it would actually keep his chosen people out! Hell everyone knows you can't build things in rough terrain, that's why Americans never built things like dams, railroads and bridges, roads....................

Trump has an important concept. And Jeb is trying to introduce pretend practical problems. This is a lie because he actually opposes it because he loves Mexicans coming in.
Of course there will be a few spots that don’t get a classic Berlin wall for specific reasons. Those spots get a different arrangement. But Trump will work hard to exclude Mexicans.
It is a policy problem, not an engineering one.
