My Mom was from Long Island and my father from CT . I lived in CT from 1952 ( born ) until 1971 and we spent each summer at my Grandparents’ house on eastern LI and always took the ferry from New London . In 1971 we moved to Long Island , and since I had so many friends back in CT I’d drop in for a visit at least 6 times a year ( until 1985 when I left for Japan where I still reside ) . In the 60’s my father worked at what was then known as Electric Boat , where subs were built .

Sounds like you had lots of summer fun for a lot of years.

What took you to Japan? Away from the major quakes, I hope.
