there are some storms a-brewin'.

And, Although none of them have made landfall, they're making part of the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii resemble a Van Gogh painting.

three hurricanesNOAA

Here's a photo showing hurricanes Kilo, Ignacio, and Jimena from left to right. This is the first time three Category 4 storms have been seen in central and eastern Pacific Ocean at one time, according to The Weather Channel. Category 4 hurricanes have wind speeds anywhere from 130-156 miles per hour.

Hurricanes are categorized primarily by wind speeds. the higher the sustained wind speed, the stronger the hurricane. A category 1 hurricane has winds up to 74-95 mph, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says they are typically expected to cause some damage to buildings as well as power outages for a few days. A category 4 hurricane is considered catastrophic, with severe damage to buildings and power outages for weeks if not months.

Sigh.

"I think you mean Mt. Denali..."

I don't recognize the usurper obama as a legitimate authority. I'll continue to call it Mt. McKinley.

Amen! Earthquakes that are not common to areas, storms that will hit with strong forces. It will make El Nino look like an infant. Financial disasters will make the previous Economic Depression back in the 20’s look like Happy Days.

Agree, God Shall Not Be Mocked!

TO #35; re hurricanes surging into the Pacific side of Mexico and California, or, in the vernacular, to the LEFT.

Now isn’t that sexist of the NOAA etc. to call them “Hurricanes”? Not “Himmicanes” or “Theyicanes” or “Transgenderedcanes”?

Re all the winds blowing around Hawaii. If you’ve ever heard or read anything the lying Democrat crooks (aka politicians) say in Honolulu, you’ll know where all the hot air is coming from.

As Blutarsky said at the “trial” in “Animal House”, “blow job”.

This is the first time three Category 4 storms have been seen in central and eastern Pacific Ocean at one time, according to The Weather Channel.

Typical alarmist hyperbole.

First of all, the weather channel isn't an authority on weather phenomena. They are part of an entertainment network (NBC/Universal) and are enamored with themselves and their self-importance. The original founder of the weather channel, John Coleman, left them in disgust with the loss of scientific objectivity in lieu of political messaging. His specific grievance is them linking nearly every observation and anomaly to global climate change.

Secondly, for centuries the oceans have been uncharted and events unrecorded. Any serious recordkeeping worldwide is a mere 250 years old, and much of that is anecdotal. If the earth is billions of years old and their observation period is a mere 33 years old, then the classification of any observation by the weather channel as a "first" is sheer arrogance based on their high opinion of themselves.

Third and last, the predictions of hurricanes has been very poorly executed particularly in the past few seasons. NOAA and the weather channel have missed badly on their predictions of 1) Number of hurricane strength storms per year, 2) Predicted intensity of storms and 3) Predicted landfall in the US of major damaging storms.

Based on this stellar record alone, they should do more to truly understand on the nature of hurricanes and spend much less time prostituting themselves by proclaiming every event as a "first" or "worst ever" scenario.

The whole reason for starting to track hurricanes and typhoons was because the Navy lost several ships to them during WWII.
