This article gives me an idea. Maybe it’s about time we brought back the legal notion of “corruption of blood.” Your kid commits a violent crime, you do time, too.
I would bet this will reduce the crime rate radically.
At least there's a possibility we can do something to effect those.

A Rebellious Son

It already works that way for whites. We’re supposed to keep paying for our ancestors’ sins (never mind if your ancestors never actually owned slaves), and somehow the farther away we get from their day, the more we owe. We the only group that it’s OK to treat as a group when it’s to our disadvantage, but when it’s to our advantage, the meme changes to “people are just people and we’re all related, one group can’t claim historical accomplishments on their own, and besides history doesn’t matter”. It sure as heck matters when some “oppressed” group wants to get paid, but don’t you dare bring up statistics when talking about crime rates. And whatever you do, don’t point out that the self-proclaimed “oppressed” follow their oppressors when they commit white flight, I guess so they can continue to be oppressed.
