So, tell me how you can remotely examine a machined part in a machine shop from another country, hm? Tell me how you can take that part to a test lab several miles away and run tests on it by remote, while keeping chain of custody? Telepresence bots to do that sort of thing are unreliable and cost *way* more than just hiring an employee. Same thing with hiring workers to do the ‘dumb’ carrying and showing for a camera, and even then a camera won’t tell the whole story.
Mechanical engineering jobs where you have to work with an existing team and get your hands dirty are *not* possible to do by remote quite just yet. This is *ENGINEERING* - designing, building and testing physical objects! Not wrangling code for software. (And even then, as Microsoft and others are finding out, that doesn’t work out so well sometimes.)

I work in the tech industry and I know most jobs like web site building can and are being done remotely : so there is no need to have them move here. you keep ranting about your 1 occupation. how about paying Americans more instead of changing the immigration laws that politicians will use to bring in a flood of more immigrants to turn the USA toward socialism.
You also claim you are conservative but you trust politicians to give you exactly what you want. when have they done that? you think you are their God or something? They tell you what you want to hear and then bring in a million more immigrants per year and you are aiding them int that with your spin and lies and a lot think that your little niche won't be destroyed by socialism? think again.
Right now they’re adding a population the equivalent of 1 major city per year, of 1 million each, in legal immigration alone.
This is not including all the others, student visas, H-1B refugees, millions of illegal aliens and other categories.
I could quickly list 20 ways how this is significantly detrimental to our Veterans, our poor, our elderly, our middle class and our entire country. Given time the list would be large. Destructive immigration policies will be dramatically changing in the future.
