Demos and media said the same about McCain. Clearly, they don’t want to face Trump.

The GOPe is so transparent. At least to those at least somewhat informed.

A Jeb/Kasich ticket? Yeah, that'll solve all the problems the US faces.
In the real world of us little folk, I'm wondering how Trump/Jindal would play. Cruz could do a lot of good staying in the US Senate, working with Jeff Sessions and a small handful of others to clean up that cesspool.

Why should we care about the judgement of a group of people that would vote for Hitlary?

They want republicans to spend all their campaign cash fighting with Trump, and then hope the Trump enthusiasm will fizzle out. Also, Trump is a perfect target for all the Dem talking points.

We heard this in 2008. "We don't want to face John McCain," the Democrats would plead, "Anybody but John McCain!"
It was the same act with the Mittster in 2012.
Both McCain and Romney ran non-offensive "I will cross the aisle" campaigns and were both easily crushed.
Time for a fighter. Trump and Cruz are the men they truly fear.

I can understand their logic. Jeb has these characteristics in common with Hillary:
1. Name recognition and family history
2. A donor and PAC base with the highest amount of stated funding at the start of the campaign
3. Policies and actions closest to how Democrats would vote, but would get a large chunk of the GOP vote, as well
These are valid ways to rate a GOP opponent for a Democrat.
Unfortunately for them, Trump throws every prior bit of calculus out the window

Thank you - that was my first reaction. Hillary is pooping her pantsuit ... FBI criminal probe & Trump, who has the stones to call her out on it. Ed Henry noted that whenever the email subject comes up (after she screwed up with the ‘using a cloth’ to wipe her server), she now looks down & all but reads talking points on the subject out of a big notebook on her podium. He said the TV audience probably doesn’t see it, but the reporters do. Her lawyers/campaign don’t want her making any more mistakes ... she’s on thin ice. (No, I don’t think she’ll go to jail, but if it gets her out of the presidential race, I’ll call it a “win”).
