White guilt got us to where we have devolved to in the last almost 7 years. Unlike Obama, Carson loves and understands America. But, he has not “evolved” on many issues such as the misunderstanding he has about the 2nd Amendment.

He's a wonderful man, but I don't want him as president. Surgeon General, even veep to learn a little about politics. I don't think he's cutthroat enough to be president (no pun intended).
Uh, duh..he is Black and speaking to the Blacks in a direct, engaging way..finally we have someone to talk to blacks to make them question and doubt. OOO=rah!

As Carson is also a non-politician, it's a politically correct way to say "I don't support the establishment GOP" with the added bonus of saying you are voting for a black man as opposed to a billionaire loudmouth.
While Ben Carson is certainly a fine man who is worthy of a serious look, I'm thinking that these strong poll showings is coming from "closet Trump supporters."

Destroys the argument that he has “too high” unfavorables to win.
He's decent, modest, honest and honorable.
I think that goes a long way with people who or sick of tricks, lies, and frauds of every political stripe.
Probably time for Walker to call it a day. Voters aren’t interested in accomplishment and ability to crush democrats three times straight.

And something else to consider: This is very clearly an anti-establishment, not anti-incumbent, election. It is non-ideological. Senators like Cruz, Rubio, and Paul who begin a sentence with "I sponsored legislation. . ." just turned people off---that's seen as "part of the problem."
Same is true with governors. In all fairness, Bush was pretty good as governor. Perry was very good. Yet none are doing well. Why? Because they go back to their RECORD which sounds like more Washington-ese. What people want is vision and confidence ahead, not solid---but in the scope of things, minor---successes behind.
This turnaround can be directly attributed to the fact that Trump has mastered the power of social media. With his millions of followers on Twitter and Facebook, he now has the power to circumvent the mainstream media and get his message out directly. Also, Trump has been having several press conference/rally events every week and these are being put up on YouTube and other alternative media.
So Trump has taken away the ability of the mainstream media to define who he is. This is the reason his favorable ratings have exploded. People discovered on their own during July and August that Trump is not the bogeyman or clown that the mainstream media made him out to be.

I think voters aren’t interested in someone who has three different opinions on birthright citizenship in less than a week. Voters want strength and clarity. That is not something Walker is offering right now.
And Carson’s quick wit. He can softly and succinctly say something profound, hit the nail on the head, and be done with it. That’s an art. The Un-Donald. I like both styles.

It’s a lot more than that, Scott. State level success does not immediately translation nationally.
At one time executive-level success did in fact matter in a national election. But you’re right. This one is all about attacking anyone perceived to be remotely perceived to be connected to the “establishment.” The resultant emotional attachment to Trump is a first for the conservative side, in which the candidate’s policy stances take a back seat to the catharsis of populist bromides. It’s all about the emotion now.
