Though this is a vanity, I have linked to the foundational source of my point.
I REALLY like what the Trump is saying. I like his attitude, I lake his effectively destroying PC and his takedown of the MSM. I like seeing all the liberal and GOPe heads exploding. I especially like him running a screen for Cruz.
But I would be very concerned about a Trump presidency. If you look at his stances in the past and some that are current and couple that with is personality, attitude and MO, and imagine him as the "strong man" in the article in the link, you will see where I am coming from.
I think the strong man is speaking of a generation that is proud and thinks it has everything in hand. Not one like today that is perplexed.
Such a thing could come in the wake of a Trump success. This is the achilles heel that this world system hangs upon any success. People may arise who take the glory themselves and don’t give it to God. Today’s faith revolution may be yesterday’s discarded history.
And God doesn’t yet want us to use that possibility as an excuse not to make what hay we can while the sun shines.
Bless you, my son
So basically I’m saying, don’t scorn the potential for an American success brought by divine arrangement through Donald Trump because other people may abuse it tomorrow.
Because, first of all, we don’t know for certain whether people WILL abuse it tomorrow. There may be many tomorrows before that happens.
To say you would not have wanted to vote for that is like saying you would not have wanted to build the house that ended up getting plundered by enemies. That’s the enemies’ fault, not your fault. God is not going to hold you responsible for others’ acts of abuse.
God bless you, my daughter.
To say you would not have wanted to vote for that is like saying you would not have wanted to build the house that ended up getting plundered by enemies.
Again, the lesson of the strong man in the link in the OP is really the core point of the creation of this thread.
Sure, okay, that could be a possiblity.
Trump, could be the “strong man” or he could simply be a strong man and we pass up our only oportunity to we have to set things right.
Anyhow,my vote doesn’t count. Because the nomination, if history repeats itself Jeb Bush, will chosen long before i get a choice.
It seems kind of UnAmerican really?
So, the presure is on you early states not to pick a dictator. Thanks in advance.
Is it the Nationalism that has people concerned? He is not hinting about rounding people up and exterminating them. He is talking about rule of law.
Is having pride in one’s country a bad thing. He want to compete with China and Mexico. He isn’t saying the government should take over Ford or Nabisco.
I think obama has brainwashed people. He is the one who acted like a fascist and yet people are worried Trump might be one?
God does expect us to vet our leaders not blindly follow the first loudmouth to come along. Especially one who has publically claimed never to have needed to ask God for forgiveness which makes him arrogant and a liar.
Because that has been bandied about in cherry picked quotations, you have swallowed the worst possible interpretation hook line and sinker.
First and foremost here, does he actually BEHAVE like a man who never learns from mistakes?
And how would you prove that is more likely than not?
You could certainly look at the Obama situation where he seemed to make all kinds of moderate concessions to get elected.
But you must surely also look at what surrounded Obama and compare it to what surrounds Donald Trump. And Trump isn’t in “concession” mode here anyhow. He is in full positive attack mode.
No. It’s bs.
I’m basically saying we all need to watch and listen and consider ALL facets of who he is, not just the ones we like. Heck, in the end he could get my vote. I’ve certainly not made up my mind. But time will tell, and we still have quite a bit of it.
Opinions vary. ;-)
I tend to distrust anyone that suddenly has an epiphany and starts supporting one party over the other. And yeah, don’t give me that Reagan argument, because Trump ain’t no Reagan. Not now. Not ever. And yeah, Trump donated to Republicans too. But not nearly as much as he donated to Democrats.
And the fact is....just 4-5 years ago Trump was donating to ‘Hillary for President’, to that ahole Chucky Schumer and to that even bigger ahole Harry Reid.
Sorry....but a leopard doesn’t change its spots that easily. It can and does, however, put on a cloak over those spots and change its’ behavior and tactics.
I don’t trust him.
You are telling us far more about you than about Trump.
Or, as appears very plausible, is becoming, by virtue of the new demands that have fallen upon him and the new support he needs to accumulate and hold to meet those demands.
Something is closing in on Donald that is greater than Donald.
Please notice that when he gets in people’s faces lately it is never to grind a liberal agenda.
We are already 180 degrees from our Constitutional Freedoms, thanks to the collusion of our “leading” Repubs with Obama. I am looking for Trump to REVERSE COURSE and bring us BACK to Constitutional Rights as they were intended to be.
Along the way, Trump is going to step on some toes, punch some noses, and kick some shins, and I for one am going to love every minute of the spectacle! Several on this thread have expressed their thanks for what he is doing, but are so inundated and drowning in their “concern” that they cannot bring themselves to support him.
Not a single one of you “Doubting Thomas es have mentioned the highest quality I see in Trump. It is a gift which some people have but far too many do not ever engage in their “thinking.” It’s called COMMON SENSE! Trump has it. You are seeing it exhibited every day. He is in the lead because he RESONATES with people who know and experience the broad picture in their every day lives, not the tiny little nitpicking so many of you are engaged in.. Trump has touched them just as Ronald Reagan touched them. WE THE PEOPLE Is beginning to have meaning again.
The true similarities between Reagan and Trump are extraordinary, but what you don’t see because you are so overly critical of Trumps brashness, is that Reagan had a clever sense of humor....the great communicator was, after all, an ACTOR by profession which necessitates a glib tongue. Trump does not have the glibness, but he has an outstanding record at negotiating and winning. He puts pressure on the pressure points and outmaneuvers the adversary. Time and again he has shown you his quickness and brilliance in his dead on target retorts to the “entrapment” questions. So far, IMHO he has won them all.
I guarantee you Trump will limit the size of the bureaucracy because it is his method of operation. He rethinks an issue and finds the solution that is right under everyone else’s noses but they just don’t see it. He will make monkeys out of the Harvard and Yale princes who think they rule America because there is no better school for economics and planning than the Wharton School of Finance. He has shown how he mastered his chosen field. The number of zeros after the numbers on his financial statements say it all.
I think the thing that disturbs me the most is the attitude I am seeing from some FReepers. You are demanding a PERFECT candidate for president, something which a person with common sense knows doesn’t exist. Stop the nonsense and look at the MAJOR FACTORS which have already put Trump far out and above his closest competitors.
In essence, I would rather have a General like George S. Patton any day of the week and twice on Sundays, than an oh so perfect gentlemen like Bernard Montgomery. Patton was brash, bold, and had a big mouth that got him in trouble, but he won his battles and every soldier I’ve known who fought with him, loved him.
That’s enough for now.
I believe Donald Trump deserves our prayers.
Common sense, if taken far enough, will disabuse progressive ideas. Donald is a son of New York City which eats, drinks, and breathes progressivism. I am most encouraged by the direction in which he is going, given those origins. Let us by every means beseech our God that it keeps up. This is not a quest to trust Trump even so much as it is a quest to trust God and believe that He will answer prayers for righteousness.
Alright we get it. You can’t stand Trump and your positive statements are simply camouflage covering. What you’re really waiting for is for him to stumble so you can say “I told you so.”
You have the right to your opinion, of course. But have the honesty to say so and not continue to pick apart everyone’s opinion with your “concern.”
You can take all your “Hope and Change” with all its insurance policies and lawyers standing in the wings, while I follow my instincts and my not inconsiderable analyses of the choices and choose my hope and change with a large dose of reality.
Thank you! I agree.
