I agree with all of that and have said as much many times. What I don't agree with is the thought that conservatives should be supporting a known liberal for the Republican nomination simply because he is saying things they want to hear.
In spite of his faults, Ted Cruz remains the most conservative candidate in the race, and as such, he deserves conservative support.
Oh he has that. However, that does not mean Donald is a liberal. Matter of fact those supporting Donald are not necessarily what we would call conservative. These people may not even consider themselves conservative. Donald is out for himself first and foremost, and I don't think that fact escapes many of the people who are rooting Donald on. But Donald has the money to do as he wishes, and is beholding to no one. That allows him to say and do what he wants. So let him speak and fire up the silent majority, who have been silent for waaaaaay to long. If Donald is sincere, and that doubt looms large for me, then he may be just what we (conservatives) need to get the country headed in a different direction. If he isn't then America will just keep sliding into the abyss. Electing one man President is hardly the salvation of this country, but just perhaps Donald may be able to do the things he is espousing. That would be because Donald Trump is a tough individual who presently has clout, and would posses even more as President. Could Cruz accomplish those things? Perhaps, but without Donald's wealth he would rely a lot more on others. Believe it or not though, Donald is actually helping to raise Cruz's ship.
At this point in time you need not worry yourself so much. There is a long way until the nomination process has completed. One thing for sure, this nomination process will turn out a lot different than the last two Presidential nomination processes.
Sit back and observe, trashing Donald at this point only increases his support.
