Donald Trump recently appeared on Bill OReillys show and was presented with an emotive scenario intended to bring Trump into the quandary of the establishment.
In context of rounding up illegals for deportation, Mr. Trump was asked about the families. What about the undocumented people living in our country, working hard and raising children? Is Trump going to bust into every home Janet Reno-style and drag families, kids and all, to the southern border?
This scenario creates quite the image and will be used repeatedly by the press to show just how unworkable, unfair, and heartless Trumps idea really is.
Trumps response to the scenario was: if we are to have a country, we have to enforce our laws, and the good people will be fast-tracked back into our country with legal status.
The first half of Trumps response is great we have to enforce our laws. But for Trump and the GOP candidates who are taking a hardline stance on those who have broken our laws and disregarded our sovereignty, I would like to take the emotion out of this scenario and present a laconic response for the candidates.
First, under OReillys lachrymose scenario, the issue of anchor baby citizenship comes to the fore.
Its axiomatic that the insane policy of granting U.S. citizenship to the offspring of illegal alien parents must be ended (and the 14th Amendment doesnt need to be amended to stop it but thats another article).
So the unasked and unanswered question is: if the policy of indiscriminate birthright citizenship is ended, should children already afforded citizenship be allowed to keep their status? In other words, should they be grandfathered in? Should United States law state that going forward, citizenship will not be awarded to the offspring of illegal resident parents?

More like 40 - 50 million.....and counting!
Can’t is what demokrats and vichy republikkanners spout out of their pie holes...
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - take away the free welfare, schooling, housing, and all the other benefits that are STOLEN from American taxpayers and most will leave on their own.
Come to think of it, take those benefits away from the 80-90% of the American recipients that are merely gaming the system and they might leave too!
No need for a roundup; cut off all support mechanisms, simultaneously force Mexico and all other countries to take them back, they will leave, now as for illegals that are gang members yeah round them up with force, that image alone will send a message that all other illegals are in dire straights, after that the rest will leave through attrition, there will be many details involved to address all the questions but basically it should be simple and not all that expensive, there are many ways to force countries to take them back and treat them humanly.
Of course the liberal democrat/rino communists and their minions of media heads will explode, the solution, the more they cry the faster and harder you push, you know you are being successful, ultimately if the American people are for you who can be against you.
Ike did it.
The concept of a “roundup” is a leftist red herring, never proposed by any candidate.
1-Build the Fence
2-Enforce E-Verify
3-Deport the criminals
4-Stop providing taxpayer benefits to Illegals.
5-Direct the border patrol to immediately return those crossing illegally.
6-Fine employers using Illegal labor.
After these policies have been in force for a few years, those here illegally will self-deport.
If they overstay I would impose a tax to leave. I was in Afghanistan with an expired visa (6 months) and it cost me $10K to leave under penalty of being imprisoned; I paid the penalty and left. Some of these bastards have been here for years.
4) Stop all Federal taxpayer funded benefits & services to ALL ILLEGALS.
This will be the major catalyst to self-deportation.
That is brilliant! Vichy Republican is spot on.
Yes. Once the wall is built. A wall like Israel has.
Call the Israelis, they will give you the wall specs for free. Israel deals with guys who are experts at tunnels like Hamas, yet none have tunneled into Israel under the walls.
If there is a will to do it like in Israel it gets done.
Trouble Jeb , Barko, Jorge Ramos don’t want us to do it.
400,000 new Anchor babies a year born here going to school for public cost $12,000 per year for 12 years, plus welfare food stamps, free medical care at hospitals. We cannot do this its crazy.
All he has to do is hammer (hard) the businesses (enablers) who hire them.
Make an example and they’ll leave quicker than you can say, ‘Megan Kelly? Jorge Ramos?’
Trump can see a problem and go after it. The newsmedia is an obstacle to a non liberal getting elected —to any office
Fixing that
Trump can do anything he wants to do if it’s possible and wthin certain reason
People don’t know what kind of opposition he won over in lNY in renovations and huge gaudy buildings
The real question is, ‘can twenty million illegals cross the border and move in? Make demands on this country? Move to the front of the line in a majority of situations? Get drivers licenses? Commit multiple heinous crimes and stay here? Can the word, ‘deportation’ become obsolete and politically incorrect?’
That is what seems impossible in a normal view, in a law abiding world
So, yes, since it’s possible and normal, he can certainly do it
Does that mean he would make a good president? I don’t know
Everything can be paid for with a tariff on all Mexican goods and services coming into this country. We can pay for the wall and the deported families (children), whatever else, and Mexico can pay for it all. It’s that simple. And I bet Mexico moves very quickly to help remedy all the issues once it starts to impact their wealthy elite.
I think you are correct.
Mr. Trump is using a rope a dope strategy. The Liberals unload on Mr. Trumps position, and then he shows them how he can do it.
The best case is the whine about how to pay for the wall.
After the Liberals got tied to the issue, Mr. Trump pointed out that we, the US, American citizens, give 30 Billion dollars yearly to Mexico. This gift can be redirected into paying for a wall.

A “Star Trek” episode gives the answer: Sour the milk.
An alien life form was attached to the ship and draining its electrical power. It was almost as large as the ship, but was a baby lost from its mother that gave “electric milk.” The solution was to sour the milk by reversing polarity. The alien broke loose and went home to mother.
If we make it impossible for illegals to get milk, er, jobs and welfare, they’ll go home to mother, too.

Project: A nearly two-mile-long, 26-foot-high wall was constructed to block the deadly surge from Lake Borgne that ravaged the Lower 9th Ward and parts of eastern New Orleans. Two gates used for barges and fishing boats are open unless a storm threatens. The barrier, which cost $1.1 billion, is the largest design-build civil works project in the history of the Army Corps of Engineers.
How Much Does Illegal Immigration Cost You?
http://amac.us/illegal-immigration-cost/
The costs of keeping illegals here in the USA, FAR exceeds the cost of a 1900 mile long WALL. If the Chinese could build a wall 13,170 miles long in 500 B.C., how is it that we cannot build one on the USA/Mexico border today? Lack of will? Lack of money? Lack of technology? NO! Greed, power, and politics are the root cause for NO WALL.
If they can do this complex wall in New Orleans, they can build a wall along the Mexican border. I would say the wall is not only feasible but far less expensive than the naysayers predict.
Your first proposal is a MUST. E-Verify is being blocked by the CoC. Send them (CoC bigwigs) all to jail and then any employer who violates the law. And yes, this will force the “undocumenteds” to go home.
Your 3rd proposal is one I haven’t heard of before but I like it a lot.
Sure he can. See Operation Wetback.
Add pressure by putting a bounty on them. We don't want to expand government with thousands of agents to hunt them down, so subcontract it out. Put a bounty of say $1000 a head on them. Yes, some unsavory characters will jump at the opportunity. Yes, people are going to get hurt. Yes, this along with the lack of work will provide tremendous incentive for the illegals to self-deport.
It will also create an underground railroad business opportunity. Some people will go for the $1000 a head bounty. Some entrepreneur(s) will accept $200 a head from the illegals to get them to the border no questions asked. Sure, less money, but they don't have to go looking for them, the illegals will come to them to get out of here.
I'd give it about a 2, maybe 3 year run. No, it won't cost tens of billions. We'd end up paying out the bounty on maybe a few hundred thousand of them. Most would quietly self-deport, possibly paying the underground railroad operations that would spring up.
