That is the one thing about Trump. Even though he is hawking Conservative policies, and educating the public to support them, he is also perceived by many to be a Leftist.
At best those I’m talking about don’t see him as a devout Conservative. They don’t see him as a party hack. This causes them to drop their defenses related to party hacks.
Cruz couldn’t get their vote, but a guy hawking the same policies and not holding public office, suddenly looks appealing to them.
This is why Trump can pull in a Trump Democrat factor.
It’s why he stands a very good chance of being nominated.
He doesn’t turn off Democrats or Moderate Republicans.
In part I view the guy as a door opener. He walks into the Oval Office, and Cruz slips right in, nobody noticing.
In four or eight, Cruz is the new standard bearer, he never would have been.
“In part I view the guy as a door opener. He walks into the Oval Office, and Cruz slips right in, nobody noticing.”
I’m not trying to be offensive, and I’m don’t won’t to receive posts telling me what a horrible I am, but I will never understand the magic that people assign to Cruz.
1.) He tried to get more H1-B visas through the Senate.
2.) He has called for more legal immigration — already one million plus per year. Legal immigration alone will destroy the nation, quickly.
3.) He voted for TPA, a bill Obama salivated over. Finally voted against it the second time when his vote did not matter.
4.) He voted for the Corker bill, unending our treaty protection clause in the Constitution. Obama salivated over the bill.
5.) He refused to take a stance on the birthright citizenship for children of illegals.
Notice, these are votes mostly and it is not me claiming to be able to peer into his inner most heart motivations.
