I spent a lot of time studying their catalog, before I chose the 710. And I don’t think my choice was affected since that’s what my Son had chosen as well.

I have been very happy with it.

My Son says a defensive knife should not be used for everyday chores. Easy to say, hard to practice.

I’ve carried a knife daily, since early elementary school days.

As a tool first, then protection.

I agree, my 2" folder is for everyday use, and it doesn't scare the west coast liberals. The knife with the 4" blade is reserved for adrenalin producing social encounters.

I usually have a minimum of three knives. One used as a tool every day (Gerber folder), a smaller folder (Camillus--a 2-blade 'grandpa' knife) in the pocket, and another folder (Kershaw) clipped to the other pocket, inside, rarely used, just well sharpened and lightly oiled.

Other 'tools' are not uncommon.
