My Son says a defensive knife should not be used for everyday chores. Easy to say, hard to practice.

I agree, my 2" folder is for everyday use, and it doesn't scare the west coast liberals. The knife with the 4" blade is reserved for adrenalin producing social encounters.

When I feel my knife is not enough, its my S&W Mod 36 with a 3” bbl.

I got my first when I was stationed in Pensacola, 74 - 78. I had grown up with rifles, just no pistols. I found out real fast, pistols take a lot of practice. We would try and shoot at least once a week at the many sand pits. After each shooting session, we would gather the lead that the rain had brought to the surface. And I would cast and reload for the next time. I was able to reload for cheaper than you could buy .22 shells. It wasn’t long before I could outshoot my Shipmates with that Chief’s Special.

So that’s what my Daughter carrys.
