Every Day Carry, or EDC, as the name implies, are the things you carry every day. Car keys, wallet, etc. From a preparedness perspective however, your EDC may be all you have available in an emergency situation or all that you have to help get you home.
Not Maryland, California, just as bad.

Around town I carry an lcp and a wallet. On my 6 mile walk, a spare mag, assorted lighters and matches for the occasional traveler I run into, bandaids, Purel, Leatherman Wave, Kimber Pepper Blaster and sassafras cane with brass horse hame handle, lens cleaner, tissues, utensil tool, liter of water, sardines. All the loose stuff is in a Maxpedition Jumbo. More than anything, from experience, the sassafras stick seems to encourage dog walkers and cyclists to stay away from me.
