The idea that McDonalds says “They wear our uniform but they are not our employee” has always been bogus.
If you will not grant a fundamental freedom to your worst enemy, you will sooner or later find yourself without it too. What goes around comes around.
They license a brand and standards. McDonalds never paid for those uniforms.
Soon a Big Mac will be on sale for just $15 each; $20 with fries.
McDonald’s is not the only franchise that will bear the brunt of this regulation people! This will destroy the model of franchise enterprising by increasing the legal ramifications throughout the country for local (individual owners) actions. It is an expansion of Federal regulations to the detriment of local governance. It is furthermore, a boon to trial lawyers and unions!
Like liberals to think they can fiddle with any business parameter and still leave the enterprise viable.
This will end up closing a bunch of McDonaldses and similar enterprises.
