God destroyed the “world’ with the flood. Not the “planet”.

why trust any historical account in the Bible?
Because most of the historical accounts in scripture do not deal with pre-historic events.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)
To: fishtank
Plus everywhere you go, when you look at any plaque about the place’s geology, you read it was covered with water. When you understand this fact, you start to realize how the Grand Canyon could have formed very quickly.

Fiction.
If the entire planet was flooded, then nothing could have lived and the survivors would have to have inbred with each other to repopulate.
To: BenLurkin
I’ll choose satire. Pre-history would probably be some time before God uttered the word “let.”

It’s called plate tectonics.
To: massgopguy
Ummmmmm.....
If God only destroyed “the world”, why didn’t He just tell Noah to walk out of the valley????
If the “planet” were NOT covered with water, then why are there sedimentary deposits, tens of meters thick, covering hundreds of miles in all four compass directions?

I understand the concept.
I don’t accept the explanation.

Noah spent 120 years building the ark to escape a flood. Do you think in 120 years he could have found a safe place without needing a boat?
