Who is Michael Brown?

How many voters have ever heard of him?

Dr. Michael Brown is a tireless general in the culture wars, a Christian talk show host who has done some very valuable work like A Queer Thing Happened to America about the gay agenda. But cut him some slack, he's a preacher and an Old Testament scholar, not a politician. He doesn't get the chemistry here.

But there are some big problems, and most of them are self-inflicted.

When did this blog-wanker mount a campaign for anything?

Normally I'm in favor of criticism but not when it comes from some damp-drawer blogger.

For the good of our young, someone needs to identify Kelly as a bimbo.

The women of FoxNews are required to wear the uniform of a rich-man’s call girl and to display themselves for the pleasure of such men.

That's not right.

Trump’s relationship with God is his business. It’s a bit presumptuous of this guy to tell him what he should do about it.

Michael Brown needs to acquaint himself with one of my favorite authors, Finley Peter Dunne who said "politics ain't beanbag", and as my good FRiend StephenJohnBanker has said, 'we're not electing a Pope', and I am perfectly ok with Trump's spiritual state, which is at the end of the day, between him and God.

I understand what Trump means about not asking God for forgiveness, but taking responsibility for his own actions, which I interpret as meaning that if he believes he has wronged someone, he tries to make it right. However as smart a man as Donald Trump is, I reject the notion that he does not understand the concept of Jesus Christ dying on the Cross for the sins of all mankind, and he wouldn't say that his favorite book is the Bible if he did not have an understanding, appreciation and acceptance of the teachings in that Book.

Michael Brown can take care of the spiritual side of town, and I submit that Donald Trump will take care of cleaning out the garbage from the political side of town, a job that he seems to relish.

“You’re really a great guy but...”

I don’t mind the advice about asking for forgiveness, but going on to ask Trump to become a milk-toast...

What does this guy think got Trump to where he is, his feminine moments? Good grief, buy a clue fella.

Okay, he has a bigger than life ego. Wow, which one of these guys doesn’t? On some level you have to be that way to push yourself through each day.

This is a daunting task, and second guessing yourself isn’t in the play-book. Who knew?

Trump in his own way is humble. If he doesn’t know about something, he says so. He can be gracious to his enemies. He can be charitable to normal folks, and he can be a nice person to have as an equal.

Anyone who saw his criticism of the NYT’s front page article could see that he didn’t express anger. He simply called them on their treachery. That is being gracious to your enemy.

We all know what the NYT’s deserved. It was politely dissected. Great job Trump.

I predicted that he is going to be challenged by the religious right, and he best be honest and sincere. He is a man who has not as yet been humbled by God. He’s more a country club Christian. He’s probably more comfortable with a motivational speaker than a Baptist preacher.

Rising...

Applauding enthusiastically!!!!! Bravo! Well said, Mr. Brown! A+! Brilliant!

Would that Trump would read this in humility and with a contrite spirit and a broken heart fall on his knees before the Lord. I fear that instead of that response to your letter, he will vilify you via social media or from some podium somewhere. And here's hoping he doesn't have your phone number since he's predisposed to retaliate by sharing private info about those who don't bow a knee to him (figuratively speaking, of course).

I haven't yet read any of the responses on this thread, but I will do so once I finish this post. I'm pretty sure there will be a fairly large number of Trumpies who will do Trump's bidding for him by vilifying you. Many will attempt to make a snappy comeback to your letter and fail miserably. This tells us of the caliber of many of the Trumpies. Attack the messenger because they can't formulate an intellectual argument to counter the message. The lowest form of debate (using "debate" very loosely).

As you correctly stated, Mr. Brown, pride goeth before a fall. It's easy to see that Mr. Trump has one in his future; I just pray it is revealed during the campaign season. I don't want an unrepentant Trump to get elected and bring the nation down with him when that fall does occur.

P.S. Could you please write an equally eloquent letter to those being duped by Mr. Trump? Many find it alarming the number of people who are willing to accept his un-Christ-like antics.

I enjoyed the article. It seems we’re all imperfect, including Trump, though recently those who find in him anything less than perfection are going to get raked over the coals.

There’s a good deal about Trump I like and appreciate. There’s also a lot I don’t find reassuring. I just can’t make the leap to trust him. Maybe I will, or not. The whole situation is such a phenomenon that I’m not clear yet on what’s true about him and what’s hype.

So I’m watching.
