These two little girls got a creepy welcome to Times Square Wednesday when they saw a fully naked male model letting it all hang out during one of artist Andy Golubs nude painting shows. Some tourists were agog but even hardened veterans of the Crossroads of the World were shocked at the sight.

Would it be no biggie if he was whacking off in the sidewalk. After all it’s as natural as nudity.

Good Old Nudity = Sex. Not around my house. I know the difference. Apparently you don’t.
Performance art?
Ah, so you do have limits. Just a bit different from the folks you are making sport of. Who knew?
So glad I decided several years ago never to visit NYC again.
Demonic possession.
I really dislike people who are obsessed with themselves and bringing attention to themselves. This is not cute for the kiddies folks. It’s bull s*^%.
New York has a pity party democrat mayor... that's why this is happening. It won't happen where I live or where you live... well, unless you live in a 'sliding toward hellhole' democrat city...
“Golub” means “pigeon” but I don’t know if that is relevant to the story....
I do not consider a "pop-up" when not intended nor the lack of a "pop-up" when intended to be an abnormality. From what I've read, it is the rule with most men, which is why (b)wear pants or shorts with ample expansion space to hide it is usually a good idea and (a)don't strut about nekkid [unless you are with your wife or in a private situation where a pop-up is wanted] is always a good idea.
Even if you can't control what Mr. Willie does at any particular time, you can control how he is displayed.
A "pop-up" has to do with blood flow and may not even be sexual at all. There are scores of reasons ranging from sudden cooling, REM or dream patterns, etc., etc.
If you have total control of Mr. Willie then, good for you, but most of us don't. Responsible dog owners don't turn their pit bull loose in the neighborhood. They keep it on a chain, behind a strong fence, etc. Same with Mr. Willie.
Advice from “Manny the Hippie”.
Manny was once asked if he frequented the nude beaches. He replied, “No, Man. I look better in THREADS!”
FRiend, I am in total agreement with your post, however, I think you missed the point of mine ;)
Wait a minute -- you're the one with the minority view here, the liberal view. This is a Free Republic forum and your view is not the predominant one. I can't teach you values, but I grew up with Christian values (as did most FReepers), so I will ask YOU some questions:
Since when is it okay for children to be exposed to full frontal nudity in a public place (such as Times Square) where there is an expectation of safety for families?
If what took place in the photo is okay, then what isn't okay, by your estimation -- where do you 'draw the line'? What if he points toward his genitals as he sees them make eye contact? What if he asks them what it is they like about what they see? etc, etc.
Why arent the people who are actually there upset? To me they seem amused or bored.
You don't know what they are thinking, and I don't either, but I would say this was unexpected. After all Guliani cleaned up Times Square and drastically lowered crime. People have the expectation that Times Square is family-safe. Mere yards from there are people dressed as cartoon characters in the hopes that families will want to get their pictures taken with them, for a tip. Aside from that people have different reactions to shock or surprise, including smiles or indifferent looks.
OK . If fear is the wrong word give me the right one. Certainly it is an emotionally charged reaction. You must agree with that.
I agree I am passionate about protecting children, even if they're not mine. And about promoting good and opposing evil.
