Rubio: Donald Trump won't be Republican nominee

ORFORD, N.H. (AP) - Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says Donald Trump will not be the Republican presidential nominee because his message is not an optimistic one.

Rubio has largely shied away from taking on Trump, the billionaire businessman sitting atop polls of the Republican rivals.

In recent weeks, candidates such as Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush have started to go head-to-head with Trump. Rubio's criticisms Wednesday were measured, even when asked about Trump's comment that Rubio is "disloyal" and "disrespectful" for running against Bush, who was Rubio's mentor in Florida politics.

"I think our nominee is going to be someone that embraces the future, that understands the opportunities before us, that's optimistic but realistic about the challenges before us," Rubio told reporters after a meet-and-greet event in New Hampshire's North Country.

"I'm running for president, I'm not running against anybody," Rubio said. "I'll continue to talk about my message."

there seems to be no end to the idiotic rhetoric of Rubio and Jeb. Trouble is, every time they spout off their polls go down and Donald’s goes up. LOL one would think they would learn to just keep their mouth shut.

You think he could have held his seat. I’m not so certain of that. Marco ticked off a lot of conservatives down here with his lying traitorous behavior. He won by the skin of his teeth last time and that’s only because he lied and said the other guys were for amnesty, not him.

The RINOs in the FL GOPee would have seen to it that he got the nomination, but there is no guarantee he would have won re-election. I honestly believe that is one of the reasons he didn’t try to defend the seat.

It is very hard to unseat a sitting Senator. He would have probably had little trouble keeping the nomination and would have all but certainly beat the Democrat.

Simply hard to beat a sitting Senator.

There are a lot of angry people feeling betrayed by RINOs. I know that neither Marco, or the GOPee understand this fact. There are some very unhappy people down here. Rubio has done nothing but tick them off since he got into office. So Marco holding his seat was not a sure thing. We’ll find out if the FL GOPee has figured it out yet.

That statement alone makes Rubio look like an imbecile...Trump has the most optimistic message out there...

Where’s all the FR pajama boys from last night who complained that Trump was not respectful and too brash?

Here’s your candidate, you castrated bush-bots and Soros trolls, a friggin marshmallow.

Wish I had saved that thread so I could ping them.

Since when is, “I want to make America great again,” not a positive message?

Make America Great Again is not optimistic? OK....

How about Rubio’s slogan, the Gang of Eight is just Great?

Actually, I prefer Sander’s slogan:
Sanders 2016, because we can’t dig up Stalin.

“Can you be a Rubio supporter and stay in Free Republica? Just wondering...I believe the only three candidates you can support here are Trump, Cruz, and Carson.”

Some toyed with supporting iCarly, but they’ve quieted down.

Regarding Rubio, other than leading the charge to drive the Republicans out of office for generations and thereby turning this country into a Third World cesspool with his 2013 Amnesty push, Rubio is a pretty solid guy - gives great speeches, great life story, very good on all issues with the exception of making Republicans a permanent minority.

I too cannot understand why people on this site would have a problem with him.
