"One must ask why her boyfriend would turn to social media at this time?" I can't relate. I would be destroyed...the last thing on my mind would be people on Twitter or Facebook.

.the last thing on my mind would be people on Twitter or Facebook. No offense, but I don't think we'll ever understand the youth. I'm 35, and I don't understand it; but I know many of my younger cousins are glued to their personal devices and social media. There's no disconnect, even in tragedy.

"I can't relate. I would be destroyed...the last thing on my mind would be people on Twitter or Facebook." I cannot understand it myself but many young people these days talk and emote only through Facebook and other social media.

Grief and shock can cause people to do strange things. Having walked a similar road, I’ll give the guy a small amount of leeway.
That being said, the level of narcissism that is displayed by some people through social media is sometimes breathtaking. I have a few FB “friends” who are a never ending source of amusement and entertainment. Amazing.
