A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting that was broadcast live Wednesday morning.
Alison Parker and Adam Ward, a reporter and cameraman for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, died in the shooting, Parker's mother confirmed to CBS News.
WDBJ-TV reports that deputies from Franklin County and Bedford County were on the scene.
The shooting happened at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Virginia.

The cameraman was engaged to a producer,not the reporter.
Allowing that to go out was wrong on the locals part..How would the producer like to see his significant any one be shot live.
I believe even live has a delay and the producer sits on the button

It was a remote at Smith Mountain Lake which is a high dollar area.
I am speculating.
They are both rather rare in that area.
I watched a WDBJ via CNN. It’s what they said. The cameraman was engaged to a producer at the station who is leaving, today was her last day. The reporter was seeing somebody else at the station.
This happened not too far from Red House. What was the story they were working on? Muslim traing camps in Va.?
