"Some people have hopes of passing amendments [to the U.S. Constitution]," said Trump, "but it's not going to happen. Congress can't pass simple things, let alone that. So anybody that's making that an issue is doing it for political reasons. The Supreme Court ruled on it."

Trump needs to understand that there is a difference between the conservative position and the GOPe party line.

My concerns are JOBS, ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION...the rest doesn’t matter to me...gay marriage is a state issue.

I agree. But we don’t need Congress to do that. The COS Project will bypass Congress and get it done in record time because most states will already have proposed it so that ratification will be a done deal.

The Article V movement is growing like crazy right now. There are 7,398 state legislators and thousands met in San Diego last month. They are now drawing up rules for an Article V Caucus to propose needed amendments to the US Constitution.

Donald Trump always comes around when he is more completely informed. That’s why he needs Ted Cruz who is well aware of the Article V movement brewing among state legislators.

So this opinion report piece is in the category of ‘Donald Trump is correct on a subset of the information but not correct in the universe of information’.

He’s speaking the hard cold truth here, like it or not. You really need overwhelming majorities to pass an amendment, and it doesn’t exist. I’ve said the same basic thing, when candidates talk about an amendment they are just pretending to be doing something about it. If Congress was serious they would simply pass legislation limiting the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction per Article III. But they won’t. In any case the president has zero to do with passing constitutional amendments.

So I’m supposed to choose as to whether I want to see America a borderless, lawless third-world cesspit... or a degenerate, morally rotted nation wallowing in faggotry?

This country is so dead.

I wonder how much people are going to care about so called “gay marriage” after several million more jobs leave America and they are standing in soup lines and their children are being sold on auction blocks to Saudi princes. Ultimately, marriage is before God, and He will recognize what He recognizes.

But the pro-amnesty, anti-gay marriage, crusaders would sell the country down the river more swiftly and surely by overwhelming our system with Leftist Latino voters.

These are dire times and we must prioritize. Our citizenry is with Trump in wanting to rein in illegal immigration, but it is not with his rivals in wanting to fight the Constitutional fight on gay marriage.

If he is the nominee I will have a HARD time actually casting a vote for him.

I almost feel better to have a full time open liberal in office than someone who is a full time liberal under the guise of conservatism/republican.

All in all, this is probably why I’m still likely to vote Cruz over Trump in the primary. But it will obviously depend on the scenario by the time my state’s primary hits. If Cruz is still hopelessly low in the polls, and Trump is the only option to counter one of the GOP-E creeps, then I’ll invariably go Trump.

Whatever the case, none of this really matters all that much to me. As long as the depravity fag-marriage is legally and/or morally embraced by America, I’m fine with seeing this sicko nation go down in flames and die.

To hell with the court’s decision.

Pack it, add new seats and fill them with conservatives. That’s sounds like the kind of thing that would be right up the alley of fantasy conservative hero Donald Trump. Right? Right? I thought he was supposed to be a dragon-slayer.

I guess he just doesn’t care that queers have used the constitution to wipe their butts.

Be careful - you will get flamed as a RINO or worse by the Trumpkins if you even imply that The Donald is anything less than 100% pure conservative...

Amendments were passed to the Florida state Constitution by a popular vote of 68%. yet it was overturned by a single federal judge.

when did federal courts have say over state constitutions?
