Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz was seemingly unhappy with a question on immigration Tuesday night from Fox News host Megyn Kelly, telling her it was something hed expect to be asked from a liberal journalist.
Kelly asked the Texas senator the same question Donald Trump faced on the cable-news network Monday.
If you have a husband and a wife who are illegal immigrants, and they had two children here who are American citizens would you deport all of them? Would you deport the American citizen children? she asked.
Cruz replied that politicians should first tackle immigration by focusing on issues of bipartisan agreement, including stopping illegal immigration and improve and streamline legal immigration.
But that doesnt sound like an answer, an unsatisfied Kelly said.
Well, what Im doing Megyn is answering what I think Congress should do, Cruz quipped back, again listing steps he thinks Congress should take on immigration....

if he isn’t drunk, then he’s psychotic.
“...unlike a stupid former president that managed get flight certified in supersonic jets.”
I’ve never thought of W as stupid, just a lousy president. His brother (YEB?), though is a different matter.
I do think Cruz was whining. I don’t think that suits him.
It was a mistake. I’d let it drop and not let it happen again.
Kelly is an ass. Her questions for the debate were so sophomoric it’s a wonder she still has a job. The only reason, is that her boss is an even bigger ass.
He is harming the NetWork right now.
She is a liberal journalist, but Cruz is too slippery.
For all the talk about the GOP’s deep field of candidates, that really isn’t so.
Those are famous nostrils! Bow in respect!
Agree! Hope she is gone soon.
Yes the reporter Ramos was extremely rude! Ramos knew that and this was his tactic...to create news, not report news!
Cruz is too plastic and rehearsed for that kind of thing. I don't think he even takes a crap that isn't well planned in every detail, as in size, velocity, etc.
Is that actually true or a conjecture?
Someone needs to turn this question back around to Megyn Kelly or whoever asks it with something like: "The parents are CITIZENS of [Country X]. The children are also most likely CITIZENS of [Country X]. Why should the U.S. provide dual citizenship to a baby when 164 out of 194 countries do not grant automatic citizenship to a baby born within their borders? Why should the U.S. expect its legal citizens to support and condone the illegal actions of other countries' citizens?"
If you have a husband and a wife who are illegal immigrants, and they had two children here who are American citizens would you deport all of them? Would you deport the American citizen children? she asked.”
Cruz should have said they can take their children with them and they can come back when they are 18 and see if they are really a citizen or they can put them up for adoption and leave them. Their choice.
It really doesn’t matter what Cruz says. The GOP will crush him. They are not going to settle for anyone but Jeb.
Cruz dodged the question.
The correct answer is, “if they are here illegally, they must go.”
These candidates need to quit whining. Theyre campaigning for a job thats much harder than sitting for tough interviews.
No sympathy from me for any of them. Goes with the territory.

I agree. When you’re complain about the question, you’ve lost the argument. Cruz should know better.
I think Cruz was about to give a good answer and Megyn started talking over him. He probably could have done a little better, but not the end of the world. To be honest, Romney actually had the right position, though he never would have implemented it. Take away their ability to work and get welfare and they’ll leave. The wall needs to be built as well. We are not realistically going to hunt down 30M people. You can eliminate many of them through attrition. Toss any that get arrested and self-deportation.
“The correct answer is”
I think that is the thing about Cruz i can’t quite figure out. I would expect him to say something like if they are here illegally, they must go. but he doesn’t?
Actually, they are walking to their own gaff chamber when they go on her show. She has to prove she is right, it is not about interviewing, it is all “gotcha’, I told you so!” The best thing they could do is stay off her show and put her in a vacuum. All they do is bump her ratings by showing up. Many people, I’m sure, tuned in last night to see Cruz. So her ratings went up. We should rather be forcing this woman away from her microphone. Our top candidates should avoid her...let her interview Graham and watch her ratings.
All these questions do, really is try to get someone to say something that will turn off the public, making them think the person is too radical. Let’s be totally honest here. Unless we have someone who is planning to rule by Eos (fiat) instead of allowing Congress to do their jobs, no president can just change laws. This president has, of course, but it’s because Congress is NOT doing its job. Would we want someone to come in and rule like a king? Basically, the media is asserting that every president does this....rule as a king. “What would you do about......?”
What Obama has done is illegal, but the weenie republican leaders have not put up a fight and have no intention of doing so. They are waiting for the next republican president to do that. The questions to presidential hopefuls should be: what legislation would you like to see passed? What are your goals to accomplish during your administration? Instead, it is the demand to take things into their own hands. Yes, they can overturn Eos with another EO. But they cannot overturn Congress-passed legislation with an EO. Even Megan Kelly should know that. She is a lawyer.
Whatever Megyn asks, the answer should be, “Santa just is white”
