They are almost done with a tunnel under Lake Meade. It is a giant bathtub drain to get water for Vegas. I saw this on the H2 channel over the weekend.
Those heavy metals will settle out right over the drain.

Won't get that far. Will settle out in sediments in the slow running San Juan River or in the far upper reaches of Lake Powell. To get the far end of Lake Mead it would require getting from Lake Powell through the Grand Canyon to the far end of Lake Mead. I'd be more worried about contamination from any untreated sewage from Las Vegas that gets into that lake near the intake.
BTW, the 3-million-gallon toxic spill pales in comparison to the 93-million gallons and 1,100 tons of highly acidic radioactive waste that poured into a small stream in west central New Mexico in July 1979. The release came when a earthen holding pond at United Nuclear's Churchrock uranium mill failed. The Church Rock spill is ranked second only to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in total radiation released to the environment. Like the two underground nuclear tests conducted in New Mexico in the 1960's (December 10, 1961 southeast of Carlsbad and December 10, 1967 east of Farmington), most folks do not have knowledge of what transpired.
Yup. And the feds are trying to say everything’s gonna be alright. It will be so very little, etc.
I ran into one of these bastards the other day since I live near there. He was spouting the same crap. I asked him if he could prove that drinking water laced with lead over years was safe.
Wouldnt answer me.
