Trump Kept Hitlers Speeches by his Bed: Says Only Short Jews Can Count His Money, Not Blacks
Trumps ex-wife says that he used to keep a copy of Hitlers speeches by his bed. That information can go a long way to understand why Donald Trump has refused to address or even acknowledge the problem of racist sentiments within his followers.
From Vanity Fair:
Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitlers collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed. Kennedy now guards a copy of My New Order in a closet at his office, as if it were a grenade. Hitlers speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveals his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist.
Did your cousin John give you the Hitler speeches? I asked Trump.
Trump hesitated. Who told you that?
I dont remember, I said.
Actually, it was my friend Marty Davis from Paramount who gave me a copy of Mein Kampf, and hes a Jew. (I did give him a book about Hitler, Marty Davis said. But it was My New Order, Hitlers speeches, not Mein Kampf. I thought he would find it interesting. I am his friend, but Im not Jewish.)
Later, Trump returned to this subject. If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them.
Trumps fascination with Hitler is just one form of his racist actions. In 1991, John ODonnell, a former Trump associate, wrote an exposé entitled Trumped! The Inside Story of the Real Donald Trump. During ODonnells tenure as president of the Trump Plaza Hotel, Trump told him that he hates black guys counting my money! He added that the only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. To Trump, laziness is a trait in blacks. Several years later, Trump didnt bother to deny it: The stuff ODonnell wrote about me is probably true.

That’s not P.C. But he still hates the Confederate flag.
The first to point nazi is the worst of the choices.
Trump’s got enemies.Vicious,slimy enemies.
May god continue to bless your land!
This is simply so outlandish that it is not credible.
Really? So if I read Sun Tzu's The Art of War, I'm pro-Chinese, right? If I read the Koran, I'm a terrorist? To me, such readings come under "Know thy enemy" and is a step necessary to develop an effective way to defeat them; not because I agree with their tactics or philosophy. No...I think you need a hell of a lot stronger case than what is presented here.
I read Mein Kempf. I wanted to know how “crazy” thought.
Nowadays, Duke assigns freakin’ comic books for summer reading.
SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET SUED REAL BAD FOR YEARS AND YEARS.

Yes, it's a left wing site. But run by a former head of the National Trial Lawyers and RFK the world is melting Jr, along with a journalist. He'll have to learn to deal with this stuff, which I suspect he can. Better than Romney dealt with a dog on top of his car.
Disclosures, I've let my dogs ride in the back of friends pickups, but never on top
I have not My New Order, long, 1000 plus pages, and a little expensive, but I've just put it on my list. Amazon has it.
If it was Mein Kampf on his dresser, I've read that and given it as a gift once or twice. Thinking people can handle these things.
Worse yet, I was packing up DVDs for storage not long ago, and left The Triumph of the Will And watched it. Guess I'm a Nazi like trump. If that's not the implication of the article, I missed it.
Since we're discussing long books, every year or so I recommend Big story: How the American press and television reported and interpreted the crisis of Tet 1968 in Vietnam and Washington . Only about 600 pages in the abridged version, an outstanding book on the influence of the press, and available in paperback.
I note that Trump referred to said book as Mein Kampf while the giver of the book said it was My New Order.
You would think that if Trump had read it, or it was a favorite (by his bed) that he might actually remember the title.
That rule won’t apply from here forward. Not that it ever did on the left.
